This project-based Data Analyst role supports a major acquisition by providing hands-on analysis, reporting, and data management. You will run complex reports, perform data mapping and data migration, and use SQL to transform and validate data. The position requires strong technical skills, the ability to work independently, and comfort working in a fully remote environment over a 4–6 month period, with the potential for extension.

Responsibilities
  • Run and maintain reports that support an acquisition project, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Perform detailed data mapping between legacy and target systems to support data migration activities.
  • Execute data migration tasks, including data extraction, transformation, and loading, while maintaining data integrity.
  • Use SQL to query, analyze, and validate data across multiple systems and data sources.
  • Conduct data analysis to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and issues, and provide clear findings and recommendations.
  • Transform and clean data to ensure it is structured, consistent, and ready for reporting and migration.
  • Generate reports in Excel and other tools to support stakeholders with clear, actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with project team members to understand requirements and translate them into data solutions.
  • Support implementation activities by validating data, troubleshooting issues, and providing analytical support.
  • Document data mapping, transformation logic, and reporting processes to ensure transparency and repeatability.
Essential Skills
  • Proven hands-on experience in data management, including handling large data sets and complex data structures.
  • Strong SQL skills for querying, analyzing, and validating data.
  • Experience with data mapping between systems to support data migration and integration.
  • Experience with data migration, including data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
  • Solid data analysis skills, with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and data quality issues.
  • Proficiency in Excel for generating reports, performing analysis, and transforming data.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform data transformation tasks to prepare data for reporting and migration.
  • Ability to work independently in a project-based environment and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Implementation experience in system or software rollouts is a plus.
  • Finance experience or exposure to financial data and reporting is a nice to have.
  • Experience supporting acquisition or integration projects is beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to documenting data processes.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with remote team members and stakeholders.
Work Environment

This is a fully remote, work-from-home position supporting a project expected to last approximately 4–6 months, with the possibility of extension. You will work primarily with data tools such as SQL and Excel, collaborating with a distributed project team through online communication and collaboration platforms. The role requires a reliable home office setup, including a stable internet connection and a quiet environment suitable for focused analytical work.

This is a Contract position based out of Moorpark, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $80.00/hr.
