Position Summary:
The Digital Operational Technology Solutions Leader/SME focuses on the strategies, implementation, and security of digital technologies within industrial and operational environments, acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the field. Acting as the go-to expert for clients and internal teams on all aspects of Industry 4.0. Guiding Oxfords client’s digital transformation. The ideal candidate will leverage deep technical expertise and industry knowledge to translate complex business challenges into tangible, technology-driven solutions that deliver measurable value. The role involves both deep technical expertise. Likewise, this is a critical customer-facing role, acting as a trusted advisor to potential clients and a technical bridge between Oxfords sales, product, and delivery teams. Supporting the sales team by providing expertise, conducting tailored demonstrations, managing proof-of-concepts, and preparing detailed technical proposals to drive revenue growth.

The Digital Operations Technology Director/SME owns the standard and narrative for the solution area, while the Sales Leader is empowered to operationalize it commercially.
Key Objectives:
Maintain a distinctive, evidence-based POV for the Industry, Factory, and Pharma 4.0, solutions .
Ensure repeatable frameworks and methodologies are activated broadly.
Direct the Sales Leader to build disciplined pipeline momentum.
Safeguard delivery integrity across early-stage deployments.
Expand Digital Transformation relevance through Operational Technology across Oxford’s full portfolio.
Educate the business regarding Industry 4.0 capabilities, while staying current with trends & market insights
Ensure solutions adhere to security, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Act as Industry 4.0 SME to lead the creation of best practices, identify gaps, create marketing materials, new wins, case studies, white papers, and leading workshops
Core Responsibilities:
Practice & Solution Development
Partner with clients to assess digital maturity and define the roadmap from current state to Factory or Lab of the Future.
Support solution architecture and design for Digital Thread / Digital Twin / Unified Namespace implementations.
Act as the primary solutioning SME during client discussions—advising on reference architectures, digital thread enablement, and IT/OT convergence strategies.
Set and drive technical solution selling strategies across Industry 4.0
Develop proposals, RFP responses, SOWs and drive scoping efforts for Professional Services opportunities
Develop and retain relationships with Associate Vendors, PMs, and SME consultants to win more opportunities
Operate across multiple industry verticals providing tailored technical and industry focused solutions
Sales Support & Client Engagement
Provide expert/advisory guidance to ongoing Client engagements to ensure quality control
Conduct discovery sessions with clients to identify opportunities & draft solution proposals
Pre-Sales Support & Deal Closure: Act as the primary technical SME during the pre-sales process.
Collaborate closely with the sales team to qualify opportunities, prepare proposals, and deliver compelling, customized presentations and product/solution demonstrations that address specific client needs and differentiate our offerings.
Review proposals for technical, ROI, or alignment integrity.Lead high-impact consultative engagements with SME clients, advising client stakeholders and technical teams on digital transformation strategies, methodologies, technology roadmaps, and ROI-driven initiatives specific to clients context (e.g., smart manufacturing, data analytics, IIoT, AI/ML in R&D and production).
Delivery Governance
Ownership of quality, ensuring frameworks, methodologies and deliverables align with client business outcomes.
Proof of Concept Management - Develop and manage proofs of concept (PoCs) to validate proposed solutions and ensure technical feasibility. Lead the technical response to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring all documentation is accurate, compelling, and aligned with solution design.
Project management and governance: Oversee the delivery of digital transformation projects, ensuring they meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements. Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success
Thought Leadership & Market Presence
Act as a visible subject matter and trusted advisor in all Industry 4.0 Technology related domains.
Represent Oxford at events, panels, or publications as authority in Industry 4.0
Develop end-to-end Industry 4.0 solutions aligned with client objectives.

Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or Computer Science.
Certifications (e.g.AWS/GCP/Azure Architect, TOGAF, PMP, Six Sigma) are a value add
Experience
Industry 4.0 SME / Solutioning Lead with over 10 years of experience in ITOT consulting, digital transformation and Industry 4.0 technologies.
Serving as a trusted advisor and solution architect—bridging IT and OT—while defining and enabling end-to-end digital ecosystems for our clients.
Deep understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies and the ROI opportunities for clients
Acting as the primary solutioning SME during client discussions—advising on reference architectures, digital thread enablement, and IT/OT convergence strategies.
Infrastructure & Cybersecurity: Plant network architecture (ISA-95/IEC 62443), DMZ segmentation, identity management, and secure data exchange.
Led and managed Service Offerings within the Digital Operational Technology area.
Data & Analytics: Industrial data lakes, digital twins, predictive maintenance, and AI/ML-enabled manufacturing optimization.
Strong understanding of Industry 4.0 concepts, including the application of IIoT, AI, data analytics, and automation in manufacturing/industrial settings
Strong client and consultation skills
Solution Architecture & Design translating client requirements into scalable solutions
Pre-sales support and deal closure
Proof of Concept & RFI/RFP technical leadership
Diverse Industry background e.g. from Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing or Consumer Goods & services)
Demonstrate Industry & Technology trends – stay ahead of emerging technologies, industry trends, standards and regulations
