Job Description

Major Function

Reporting to the Director, Program Business Solutions and Analysis, the Senior Specialist is the senior technical expert for program reporting and analytics, serving as the bridge between end users and technical solutions. Working within the Director’s strategic direction and priorities, the role independently designs, builds, and maintains Power BI and Microsoft Fabric solutions for WWF-US Program Operations, sets technical and modeling standards, and mentors colleagues. It also supports Workday Adaptive Planning reporting, process documentation, system enhancement testing, and user enablement in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, and maintain Power BI and Microsoft Fabric solutions (semantic models, pipelines, dashboards) that are scalable, reusable, and governed.
  • Establish and maintain data modeling, visualization, and documentation standards, including report logic, definitions, filters, business rules, and assumptions.
  • Own data validation and quality controls to ensure dashboards reflect approved business rules and structures across sources.
  • Design and lead training, guidance materials, and job aids (in English and Spanish) in collaboration with the Director; drive adoption and self-service among non-technical users.
  • Provide escalated user support and analytical guidance in English and Spanish, elevating reporting from descriptive to decision-driving insights.

Leadership and Mentorship

  • Mentor and coach colleagues on reporting best practices.
  • Advise the Director on priorities, sequencing, tool strategy, and resourcing for program reporting; the Director retains decision authority.
  • Lead cross-office initiatives within the Director’s priorities and manage competing stakeholder priorities with minimal supervision.

Process & System Support (Secondary Focus)

  • Lead system issue triage by reproducing and documenting errors, coordinating with relevant teams and vendors, and validating fixes.
  • Lead user acceptance testing (UAT) for system enhancements, providing feedback and supporting release communications.
  • Lead periodic access audits and coordinate with IT on user provisioning for reporting tools.
  • Drive process mapping, workflow documentation, and process improvement activities in collaboration with the Director.
