Overview:

The Senior Quality Professional is responsible for overseeing and advancing quality assurance and quality control processes within the organization. This role involves managing the production and quality of appraisal work within a defined territory, vetting and onboarding appraisers that meet the quality and service expectations of the organization and clients, negotiating fees with service providers and clients, assigning orders to qualified appraisers, tracking vendors’ performance so as to deliver quality reports on time, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Senior Quality Professional will work closely with the team manager, Chief Appraiser, and various departments to maintain high quality standards and support organizational goals.

Job Responsibilities:

Production and Quality:

  • Manage appraisal production and quality within a defined territory, including vetting/onboarding panel appraisers, assigning appraisals, reviewing completed reports, and delivering to the client.
  • When required, assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining team processes and standards to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements, and to ensure products and services meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Provide appraisal fee and turn-time quotes, negotiating fees with service providers and clients prior to assigning
  • Ensure the effective integration of internal policies and procedures, lender requirements, and client needs into daily operations and processes.
  • Identify quality issues, non-conformities, and areas for improvement, and make recommendations on developing corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Analyze production and operational processes to identify opportunities for improvement in quality, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to make recommendations on process improvements that drive organizational change.
  • Communicate regularly with panel appraisers to ensure that panel members are knowledgeable about quality requirements and adhere to established quality processes.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to panel appraisers, peers, and others as required.
  • Address customer quality concerns and feedback, working to resolve issues and improve customer satisfaction, ensuring that customer quality requirements are met and exceeded.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customer contacts, using their feedback to drive continuous improvement in products and services so as to create a first class customer experience.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer) are encouraged.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in quality assurance or quality control roles, with a proven track record of managing quality metrics and driving process improvements.
  • Experience in real estate appraisal production and review.
  • Experience with Excel or Google Sheets preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, methodologies, and best practices, including USPAP, Interagency Guidelines, GSE & HUD requirements, client requirements, and company policies.
  • Detail oriented, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to identify and address quality issues effectively.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Certified Residential or Certified General Appraisal License required.
  • Adaptable and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex quality challenges.
