About The Role

HPS/PayMedix is undergoing a major transformation of its payments ecosystem. As transaction volume scales rapidly, we are investing ahead of growth to consolidate vendors, streamline ledgering, increase operational efficiency, and further strengthen our enterprise-grade payments infrastructure.

We are hiring a dedicated Payments Product Manager to drive the execution of this initiative. This role will focus on implementing a cleaner, more scalable, and strategically aligned payments architecture that supports card, ACH, virtual card, and emerging payment rails, while translating a defined modernization strategy into structured execution and measurable outcomes. This will help build the foundation for long-term enterprise value and scalable growth.

This role reports directly to the Chief Product & Innovation Officer and is fully remote.

Primary Responsibilities

• Payments Infrastructure Execution: Create a multi-year roadmap that includes platform capabilities. Lead the implementation of a consolidated payments architecture across processors, banks, and ledger systems. Execute across authorization, settlement, batching, reconciliation, funding, payouts, and refunds/recoupments. Drive delivery through partnerships with finance, operations, compliance, engineering and executive leadership.
  
  
• Ledgering & Reconciliation: Implement upgraded and outsourced ledgering capabilities that improve traceability, reporting accuracy, and auditability while reducing manual reconciliation and integrating claims, payments, and financial reporting.
  
  
• Payment Rails Expansion & Innovation: Lead execution across RTP, FedNow, ACH, card, and virtual card programs, including routing logic, controls, reconciliation, and multi-rail requirements that improve flexibility, speed, and cost efficiency. Enhance provider, employer, external partner and member experience.
  
  
• Vendor & Bank Integration Management: Own integration requirements and sequencing across processors, banks, and hybrid infrastructure partners, ensuring clean routing, scalability, flexibility, and support for advanced payout models.
  
  
• Economics, Reliability & Scale: Improve authorization rates, returned payments, refunds, settlement timing, operational error rates, and cost per transaction while strengthening platform resilience and margin efficiency as volume grows.
  
  
• Risk & Compliance: Ensure payment workflows meet applicable NACHA, card brand, sponsor bank, audit, and regulatory requirements while partnering with Compliance, Finance, and Operations toidentifyand mitigate risk early.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of Product Management experience in payments or fintech, including ownership of product roadmaps, product requirements, and direct partnership with engineering teams.
  
  
• Experience in B2B and B2B2C payments environments with complex or intermediated money movement.
  
  
• Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem and lifecycle, including ACH, cards, payment gateways, merchant acquiring, ledgering, reconciliation, settlement, refunds, exceptions, chargebacks, and payment APIs.
  
  
• Proven ability to build and scale payment capabilities across internal and external partners, including processors, banks, SaaS vendors, and cross-functional business and technology teams.
