Serve as Schneider Electric's technical and commercial design resource for consulting engineers, EPC firms, end users, and internal sales teams by influencing specifications, developing budgetary solutions, expanding Schneider Electric's scope of supply, and supporting projects from conceptual design through order acquisition. This aligns with the broader CAE mission of supporting design firms with layouts, applications, budgetary pricing, specification development, and technical expertise.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Consulting Engineer Engagement

  • Support Tier 1+, Tier 2, and Tier 3 engineering firms throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with consulting engineers, specifiers, EPC firms, and key design influencers.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for electrical distribution system design and Schneider Electric solutions.
  • Engage early in the design process to maximize Schneider Electric influence and specification position.

Budgetary Design & Proposal Development

  • Develop budgetary proposals and conceptual system solutions from:
    • Narrative descriptions
    • Napkin sketches
    • Preliminary layouts
    • Single-line diagrams
    • Fully engineered project documents
  • Create preliminary equipment layouts and system recommendations.
  • Provide conceptual engineering guidance to support design decisions.
  • Assist customers with application selection, constructability considerations, and code compliance.

Specification Influence

  • Develop and promote Schneider Electric–favorable specifications.
  • Review and influence project documents to improve Schneider Electric positioning.
  • Support consulting engineers with guide specifications, equipment selection, and design standards.
  • Identify opportunities to establish Schneider Electric as Basis of Design (BoD) whenever possible.
  • Promote Schneider Electric digital solutions, software tools, and differentiated technologies within project specifications.

Cross-Business Unit Collaboration

  • Coordinate with Schneider Electric Business Units to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
  • Expand opportunities beyond core power distribution offerings by incorporating:
    • Digital Power
    • Power Systems
    • Secure Power
    • Industrial Automation
    • ASCO
    • ETAP
    • EcoStruxure solutions
    • Sustainability and Microgrid offerings
  • Facilitate early engagement of subject matter experts when required.
  • Drive a "One Schneider" approach to project development and customer engagement.

Sales Enablement & Order Closure

  • Partner with Power Distribution Sales teams to develop project pursuit strategies.
  • Support opportunity qualification and prioritization activities.
  • Assist sales teams in positioning Schneider Electric solutions versus competitors.
  • Participate in project reviews, strategy discussions, and customer presentations.
  • Support quote-to-order conversion efforts and remove technical barriers to award.
  • Help drive specification wins into booked orders. Technical Support & Review
  • Conduct technical reviews of project documentation when required.
  • Review one-line diagrams, layouts, specifications, and equipment selections.
  • Verify alignment between project requirements and proposed Schneider Electric solutions.
  • Provide guidance on applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Support risk identification and technical issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.

Proposal Governance & Compliance

  • Engage the Solution Optimization Center (SOC) to obtain required approvals for proposal development.
  • Ensure all proposals comply with Schneider Electric processes, policies, and commercial guidelines.
  • Coordinate with pricing, quotation, and engineering resources to deliver accurate project solutions.

Opportunity & Pipeline Management

  • Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of future project opportunities.
  • Track projects from early design through construction and order placement.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity data, project status, and forecast information within CRM systems.
  • Identify emerging projects and strategic pursuits within assigned territories and accounts.
  • Actively manage opportunity progression to ensure a clean, actionable, and forecastable pipeline.

Customer Experience & Market Influence

  • Position Schneider Electric as a trusted technical advisor to consulting engineers and end users.
  • Deliver a high level of responsiveness, technical expertise, and project support.
  • Support industry events, educational presentations, and specification-focused initiatives.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 101,600 - USD 152,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
