SAL1 and SAL2 put candidates inside a live SOC simulator, PT1 is a hands-on penetration test with a professional report, and AI1 covers AI security. Now we're building the next level: certificates that validate the path a learner chose on TryHackMe and prove their quality to prospective and current employers. You'll join a high-autonomy, high-velocity squad where your decisions directly impact real learners from day one.

Location / Time Zone: 100% Remote (UK / EU based with strong overlap with UK business hours required).

The Certification Squad & What You'll Own

You'll be embedded in a small, cross-functional squad (engineers, product manager, designer) with end-to-end ownership of how TryHackMe certifications are built, taken, and trusted. That means:

Next-level certificates: Design and build credentials that validate a learner's chosen path on TryHackMe and show employers, current and prospective, the quality behind them. Exam experience: Own the product around the exam, from how learners prepare and book to how they take it and receive and share their result. Cutting-edge exam content: Work directly with our in-house Content Engineering team on the content and scenarios that make our exams practical, realistic and hard to game, and on the environments they run in. Employer trust: Build the verification and sharing tools that let employers confirm what a certificate means and what the holder can do. Cross-functional delivery: Work closely with Product, Marketing and Content Engineering to take certifications from idea to launch and keep improving them.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• End-to-End Ownership: Take ambiguous, loosely defined product problems from initial concept through design, implementation and production deployment.

• Architecture & Craft: Design scalable, reliable and secure RESTful APIs and modern frontend interfaces, keeping long-term maintainability and system performance in mind. Exams need to be dependable and fair, so reliability matters.

• Cross-Functional Partnering: Work directly alongside product managers, designers and Content Engineers to shape how problems get solved, not just pick up pre-written tickets.

• Engineering Leadership: Elevate squad quality through thoughtful code reviews, system design discussions, and mentoring fellow engineers.

• Product Curiosity: Validate what works using data, user feedback, and experimentation rather than relying on opinions.

What You'll Bring

• Core Technical Mastery: Strong commercial full-stack experience building production SaaS applications with advanced TypeScript, Node.js, React and MongoDB/SQL fundamentals.

• Product Engineer Mindset: You care deeply about user impact and business outcomes, not just backend plumbing. You prefer shipping real value quickly over endless corporate red tape.

• High Ownership & Autonomy: Comfort working in fast-paced environments where you take full accountability for your features, from database schemas to UI polish.

• AI-Assisted Efficiency: Experience using modern AI dev tools (Cursor, Claude) to move faster, combined with the technical judgment to critically evaluate and test generated code.

• Clear Communication: Ability to explain complex technical trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical teammates.

• Nice to have: Experience with Sanity (or a similar headless CMS).

• Bonus Points: A genuine interest in cybersecurity or online education, an active TryHackMe profile you're proud of, or a TryHackMe certification you've earned yourself.
