Perform arc flash hazard studies, short-circuit calculations, and coordination analysis
Design installation packages and drawings for substation upgrades and relay replacements
Develop relay settings for both electromechanical and digital relays
Design control circuits for breakers, transformers, and other substation devices
Analyze power quality and event capture data to recommend solutions
Review customer power systems and provide recommendations for upgrades or improvements
Travel to job sites to collect field data and support installations or commissioning
Understand system hazards and follow strict electrical safety procedures
The Experience We’re Looking For:
3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical engineering, preferably in substation protection and control design
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong knowledge of electrical systems and substation equipment
Proficient in AutoCAD and power system modeling software (e.g., SKM Power Tools, ETAP, Easy Power)
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
NETA II, III, or IV certification preferred
EIT or PE license preferred
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external teams

Up to 20% of travel required, including occasional extended hours during project peaks
Able to work outdoors in all weather, at heights (100+ ft), in confined spaces, and around high-voltage equipment and heavy machinery
Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs. and enduring extended physical activity
Requires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environments
Bonus Points for:
Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
NETA or PE licensure
Experience creating full utility P&C engineering design packages
Previous client-facing technical experience or field commissioning work
