What you’ll be doing as a Senior Consultant

A Senior Consultant at CFO Solutions is a seasoned, lead technologist who understands how to translate client needs into business applications.  Senior Consultants facilitate client discussions and build application components to suit the specific needs within the given EPM software. They understand accounting processes, financial statements, and common business metrics in one or more industries. Senior Consultants are resourceful, effective problem-solvers and have a driven curiosity to learn new applications and apply newly gained knowledge.

The Senior Consultant will also participate in ongoing financial consolidation, planning, and reporting projects while developing work plans and process documentation that comply with policies and methodologies.  They will contribute to and assist with monitoring key project performance metrics.

The Senior Consultant is a proactive, reliable contributor to project delivery who can work effectively in teams and independently to create value for our clients. The position requires a firm understanding of task, time, and process management as this typical role is assigned to multiple active projects at a given time. 

Responsibilities of the Senior Consultant:

• Facilitate requirements gathering
• Document application design
• Build and oversee build of dimensions, metadata, templates, reports, and data models
• Communicate independently with clients to follow up on risks and action items
• Prepare user acceptance testing use cases and scripts
• Facilitate user acceptance testing
• Document end user guides and deliver training
• Adhere to project management methodologies
• Adhere to quality assurance processes
• Delegate effectively to junior team members
• Mentor and coach junior team members
• Participate in internal initiatives
• Participate in business development activities at existing clients
• Develop skills in new technologies

The ideal CFO Solutions Senior Consultant:

• 5+ years of consulting experience
• 3+ years of experience with financial processes such as planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial consolidations
• Demonstrable experience learning more than one technology
• Bachelor’s degree (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or Computer Science areas of concentration) or industry equivalent experience
• Experience managing a team through at least one full cycle implementation engagement
• Ability to articulate financial close concepts and describe the components of standard financial statements and key calculations
• Ability to problem-solve and break down abstract concepts into components
• Accountability and personal drive
• Excellent written and oral skills
• Ability to understand contracts and adhere to statements of work
• Ability to drive team momentum and influence dialog in a remote environment
• Access to reliable, high-speed internet that can support regular audio and video and other web conferencing ability
• Ability to thrive in a remote, team environment
• Ability to travel typically averaging between 15% to 30% over the course of a year

Dependent upon experience and exposure to above.
