Job Summary

 

Under the direction of the Partner, Senior Manager, or Manager, the Senior Consultant, Healthcare Reimbursement prepares Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and provides reimbursement consulting for Senior Living clients. Responsibilities include cost report preparation and review, reimbursement analysis, audit support, and client communication. Experience with reimbursement systems in multiple states is preferred, with California experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:  

  • Prepare and review Skilled Nursing, Home Health, and Hospice Medicare and Medicaid cost reports.
  • Manage Medicare and Medicaid cost report engagements from data collection through filing and submission.
  • Analyze reimbursement opportunities and assist clients with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement optimization strategies.
  • Perform reimbursement analyses, forecasting, cost comparison studies, and other healthcare financial consulting engagements.
  • Utilize financial statements, general ledger information, statistical data, and reimbursement data to prepare accurate and compliant cost reports.
  • Assist clients with cost report audits, allowable cost reporting, new program evaluations, reimbursement analysis, and bad debt recovery initiatives.
  • Collaborate with offshore and cross-functional teams to review workpapers, validate data, and meet engagement deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication and high-quality service delivery.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred not required.
  • 5+ years experience with cost reports and healthcare reimbursement.
  • Proven Excel skills preferred.
  • Experience in client relationship development with the ability to maintain relationships by providing optimum client service.
  • Ability to work within budgeting and deadline constraints.
  • Enjoys working in a team setting.
  • Enjoys problem solving.

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $80,000 to $108,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws. 

 

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
