The Senior Claims Training Specialist is responsible for onboarding, training, and mentoring independent adjusters to ensure proficiency in company systems and client requirements. This role involves developing instructional content and providing ongoing coaching to improve adjuster performance and technical accuracy.
Job Summary
The Senior Claims Training Specialist (Property) is responsible for onboarding, training, and mentoring independent adjusters on the DMA Independent Adjuster Team. This position ensures adjusters become fully proficient in company systems and client-specific requirements, with an emphasis on delivering an excellent member experience and producing accurate estimates and assessments. The Senior Claims Training Specialist develops and delivers training content, guides new adjusters through their initial work submissions, and supports adjusters’ professional growth and advancement within the organization.

Client Focus: Understands client expectations, member experience standards, and estimating guidelines, and ensures adjusters are trained to meet them.
Technical Expertise: Maintains strong working knowledge of FHE, X1, and Xactimate, as well as property estimating principles.
Communication: Communicates clearly and patiently with adjusters of all experience levels, explaining complex estimating, billing, and reporting requirements.
Coaching & Mentoring: Provides ongoing guidance and constructive feedback to help adjusters strengthen their technical skills and advance their careers.
Problem Solving: Identifies gaps in adjuster knowledge or performance and adapts training methods accordingly.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee the onboarding of new adjusters joining the DMA Independent Adjuster Team, with a focus on member experience and the accuracy of estimates and assessments.
Set up new adjusters in FHE and provide comprehensive system training.
Configure X1 for new property adjusters, including preferences, company headers, opening and closing statements, and other required defaults.
Train property adjusters on:
Estimating guidelines and review standards
Client service level objectives (SLOs), including updating exams with contact and inspection dates
Preparation for Xactimate Level Certification
Work directly with new adjusters on their initial work submissions, ensuring they understand report preparation, work uploads, and diary management.
Train adjusters on proper file billing and time entry in FHE.
Cross-train adjusters on additional lines of business, such as trucking.
Identify and evaluate new tools and technologies that help adjusters work more efficiently and deliver higher-quality results.
Develop online training content in Microsoft Teams, including videos and webinars.
Mentor adjusters to deepen their expertise and support their advancement to the General Adjuster level for CSC assignments.
Required Skills and Abilities
Advanced working knowledge of Xactimate, with current Xactimate Level Certification
Proficiency with FHE and X1 claims systems
Prior experience as a Property Adjuster or General Adjuster
Strong presentation and instructional design skills, including virtual training delivery through Microsoft Teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple trainees and competing priorities
Education and Experience
Minimum of five years of property claims adjusting experience, including independent adjusting
Prior training, mentoring, or supervisory experience preferred
Xactimate Level 2 or Level 3 certification preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree preferred
