The Senior Analytics Platform Engineer is responsible for the administration, governance, engineering, and continuous improvement of Capital's enterprise analytics platform, with primary responsibility for Microsoft Power BI and emerging Microsoft Fabric capabilities. This role develops and supports enterprise analytics solutions, reusable semantic models, and platform standards while ensuring the security, reliability, and scalability of the analytics environment. The Senior Analytics Platform Engineer partners with business and technology teams to deliver trusted, governed, and accessible analytics capabilities that support reporting, decision-making, self-service analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Administer and support the enterprise Power BI and Microsoft Fabric environment, including security, workspaces, capacities, gateways, deployment processes, monitoring, and platform configurations.
• Establish and maintain governance standards, development practices, lifecycle controls, security requirements, and operational procedures.
• Ensure platform availability, reliability, performance, scalability, and compliance with enterprise policies and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor platform health, troubleshoot complex issues, implement performance improvements, and support capacity planning and optimization.
• Maintain platform documentation, support procedures, and operational controls
• Design, develop, administer, and optimize reusable semantic models, datasets, dataflows, and other governed analytics assets.
• Establish standards for shared business definitions, measures, calculations, and reporting logic to promote consistency across the organization.
• Partner with business and data governance stakeholders to ensure analytics assets are accurate, trusted, documented, and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Promote reuse of governed analytics assets and reduce duplicate reporting solutions and datasets.
• Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, scorecards, and analytical solutions using Power BI, Fabric, and related Microsoft technologies.
• Develop and optimize DAX calculations, data transformations, visualizations, and reporting logic.
• Create reusable templates, themes, and development standards that improve consistency, usability, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Support the modernization, consolidation, and lifecycle management of enterprise reporting solutions.
• Monitor platform health, availability, performance, capacity, security, and operational effectiveness.
• Establish operational standards, service metrics, and usage reporting to support platform governance, adoption, and optimization.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Optimize platform configurations, semantic models, reports, refresh processes, and capacity utilization to improve scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
• Partner with business stakeholders, analysts, developers, and technology teams to deliver scalable analytics solutions and address reporting needs.
• Provide technical consultation, guidance, training, and support related to platform capabilities, analytics architecture, semantic models, security, and reporting solutions.
• Promote responsible adoption of Power BI, Fabric, and self-service analytics capabilities through standards, education, and community engagement.
• Support production analytics environments and communicate platform changes, issues, and new capabilities to stakeholders.
• Evaluate, prototype, and recommend Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, automation, Copilot, and AI-enabled analytics capabilities.
• Support the enterprise analytics platform roadmap and modernization initiatives.
• Participate in architecture discussions involving analytics, reporting, and enterprise data platforms.
• Develop and support governed AI-powered analytics solutions, trusted data assets, and reusable analytics capabilities.

Knowledge:

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric platforms.
• Strong understanding of semantic modeling, data visualization, and analytics best practices.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, privacy, metadata, lineage, and information management principles.
• Understanding of software development lifecycle, source control, testing, deployment, and operational support practices.
• Knowledge of cloud data architecture, data warehousing, and business intelligence concepts.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics capabilities and healthcare data environments preferred.

Experience:

• Seven (7) or more years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, reporting, data platforms, or related technology roles.
• Five (5) or more years of hands-on experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power BI.
• Three (3) or more years of experience administering Power BI in an enterprise or similarly complex environment.
• Experience designing and supporting enterprise reporting solutions, semantic models, and reusable analytics assets.
• Experience establishing platform governance, security controls, and development standards.
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to deliver analytics and reporting solutions.
• Experience working with SQL, dimensional modeling, and enterprise or cloud-based data platforms.

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst, Fabric Analytics Engineer, Fabric Data Engineer, Azure, or comparable Microsoft certification preferred.
• Preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric administration and implementation.
• Experience integrating Power BI with Snowflake, Azure, or other enterprise data platforms.
• Experience supporting self-service or federated analytics environments.
• Experience with analytics automation, deployment practices, or platform modernization initiatives.
• Experience developing or supporting AI-enabled analytics solutions.
• Healthcare payer, insurance, or other regulated-industry experience.

Work Environment:

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing business and technical priorities.
• Ability to participate in scheduled platform maintenance, releases, or upgrades outside normal business hours when necessary.
• Ability to provide off-hours assistance for critical platform incidents or time-sensitive production needs when required.Ability to collaborate effectively with remote and geographically distributed teams.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of the job, the employee is frequently required to sit, use hands and fingers, talk, hear, and see. The employee must be able to work over 40 hours per week. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 pounds.
