About the Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst, Mortgage to join our Mortgage Accounting team. In this role, you’ll own core day-to-day accounting for One Real Mortgage, from journal entries and reconciliations through accounts payable, broker check processing, and expense bill-backs, so the business closes on time with accurate, well-supported books. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, and proactive about chasing down discrepancies, and someone who communicates clearly with partners across mortgage operations and the broader finance team.

This is a great opportunity to build deep expertise in mortgage accounting, strengthen close and reconciliation processes for a growing business line, and make a visible impact on the quality of financial reporting for our ancillary businesses.

What You’ll Do:

• Month-End and Year-End Close: Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and adjusting entries to ensure a timely and accurate financial close.

• General Ledger Management: Review general ledger activity, investigate discrepancies, ensure accurate account classification, and maintain supporting documentation for all entries.

• Account Reconciliations: Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and ensure outstanding balances are appropriately resolved.

• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly financial reports, supporting schedules, and account analyses to support management reporting and financial reviews.

• Accounts Payable Management: Review and process vendor invoices, validate supporting documentation, monitor outstanding invoices, and ensure timely payment processing.

• Broker Check Processing and Reconciliation: Track broker checks received, verify additional funds, coordinate payment processing, and follow up on outstanding checks and related transactions.

• Expense Allocation and Bill-Backs: Review expenses and allocate costs to the appropriate entities, departments, or business units, including preparing intercompany and other expense bill-backs.

• Supporting Documentation and Audit Readiness: Maintain organized documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, invoices, payments, and other financial transactions to support internal and external audit requests.
  

What You’ll Bring:

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting concepts, including accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany activity.

• Hands-on experience with an ERP or general ledger system (e.g., NetSuite or similar) and proficiency in Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and reconciliation workbooks.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to trace transactions to support and resolve discrepancies independently.

• Strong organization and time management skills to meet month-end close deadlines while handling recurring AP and payment processing.

• Clear written and verbal communication, and comfort partnering with mortgage operations, AP, and finance stakeholders to follow up on open items.

• Familiarity with mortgage lending operations or financial services accounting is a plus.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 6+ years of accounting experience, ideally including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and accounts payable; mortgage, lending, or financial services experience preferred.

• CA or progress toward CA is a plus but not required.
