Scrum Master

The client is midway through migrating a 15-year-old monolith to a microservices architecture using a strangler fig approach, supported by an active AWS partnership. Engineering is organized into three delivery pods plus dedicated data engineering and marketing technology teams, together supporting four customer-facing surfaces: a provider portal, a pharmacy portal, a patient account portal and a mobile app. The existing Technical Project Manager is spread across 28 concurrent Jira projects, which leaves no capacity for day-to-day Agile facilitation and backlog hygiene. This role closes that gap. You will own ceremonies and Jira maintenance alongside the existing PMO rather than replacing it, and work closely with engineering leadership.

What you will do

• Facilitate core Agile ceremonies across the engineering pods: sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming and pointing, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• Own Jira hygiene: backlog upkeep, sprint board maintenance, ticket quality and reporting.
• Partner closely with engineering leads and the existing TPM to keep planning and documentation current without duplicating PMO responsibilities.
• Act as the communication bridge between the teams executing the migration and project stakeholders, translating technical progress into clear status updates.
• Support coordination across the pods as priorities shift

Must have

• Proven experience as a Scrum Master or in a comparable Agile facilitation role.
• Strong hands-on Jira expertise, including backlog management, sprint boards and reporting.
• Solid grounding in Agile and Scrum ceremonies and practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Able to work 4 to 6 hours of overlap with US time zones (Pacific to Eastern)

Nice to have

• Familiarity with TypeScript and AWS.
• Exposure to microservices migration patterns (such as strangler fig) or large-scale legacy modernization.
• Experience supporting healthcare, pharmacy or patient-facing systems.
