About the Role We are seeking an SAP Basis Team Leader to lead the technical administration, operations, security, integration, and lifecycle management of our SAP landscape, including SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Cloud Identity Services, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Cloud ALM, and related SAP business applications. This role will ensure SAP environments are secure, stable, scalable, integrated, and ready to support global business operations. This position will lead the SAP Basis function and serve as a key technical partner to ERP, infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, application, and business teams. The role will coordinate with SAP, implementation partners, managed service providers, and internal IT teams to manage environments, transports, monitoring, releases, integrations, identity services, technical cutover, and operational readiness. Our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) landscape is comprised of multiple instances across the globe. We seek to consolidate and simplify our ERP landscape to drive efficiency and effectiveness in our operations for decades ahead. All IT team members may be assigned IT Engineering responsibilities, focused on designing, building, and maintaining technology systems that support business operations. These assignments ensure secure connectivity, scalable platforms, and reliable data flow to enable efficient production, supply chain management, and enterprise-wide digital transformation, especially during the separation from Owens Corning. Roles may be temporary or ongoing and can include direct ownership of IT service delivery for one or more manufacturing plants. Key Responsibilities
Lead the SAP Basis team, contract and internal resources, responsible for technical operations, platform governance, and support across the SAP landscape
Oversee administration and support of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, SAP BTP, SAP Cloud Identity Services, SAP Commerce Cloud, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Signavio, SAP GRC, and related SAP solutions
Ensure availability, reliability, performance, and security of SAP development, test, quality, training, pre-production, and production environments
Coordinate SAP cloud tenant provisioning, system refreshes, maintenance events, release schedules, patching, and upgrade readiness activities with SAP and service providers
Define and govern SAP transport, release, and change management processes, including transport sequencing, deployment controls, cutover planning, and production release support
Lead SAP identity and access technical enablement, including SSO, SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS/IPS), Microsoft Entra ID integration, technical users, certificates, and authentication policies
Partner with SAP Security, IAM, cybersecurity, and application teams to support secure role deployment, privileged access, audit readiness, and access governance requirements
Oversee SAP integration administration, including connectivity, API enablement, middleware coordination, certificates, RFC/OData/REST/SOAP/IDoc interfaces, and issue resolution across SAP and non-SAP systems
Lead monitoring and operational readiness capabilities using SAP Cloud ALM and related tools, including job monitoring, interface monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root-cause analysis
Support SAP Commerce Cloud technical operations, including environment management, deployments, configuration coordination, monitoring, integration support, and release readiness
Provide technical leadership for SAP implementation and transformation activities across SAP Activate phases, including environment readiness, testing support, data migration support, cutover execution, and hypercare
Collaborate with infrastructure, network, security, application, and business teams to design and operate secure, scalable, and reliable SAP platform services
Manage Basis work assigned to internal resources, implementation partners, and managed service providers, including priorities, deliverables, service levels, and issue escalation
Develop and maintain SAP technical standards, operational procedures, runbooks, support models, and knowledge transfer documentation
IT Engineering (As Assigned)
Own IT service delivery for assigned manufacturing sites, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring operational excellence
Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver IT services aligned with business needs during organizational transitions, including separation activities
Participate in the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions that support core business operations and digital transformation
Ensure manufacturing connectivity and data flow across enterprise systems, enabling efficient production and supply chain processes
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of SAP Basis, SAP technical administration, or SAP platform operations experience in enterprise environments
3+ years of team leadership, workstream leadership, or technical lead experience
Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA, preferably SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition or RISE with SAP
Experience with SAP system landscapes, client/tenant management, transport management, release coordination, and production support processes
Experience with SAP cloud solutions such as SAP BTP, SAP Cloud ALM, SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS/IPS), SAP Signavio, SAP GRC, SAP Business AI, and SAP Commerce Cloud is preferred
Experience integrating SAP environments with Microsoft Entra ID, SSO, identity provisioning, and enterprise IAM platforms
Strong understanding of SAP security concepts, technical users, authorization dependencies, certificates, connectivity, and segregation of duties considerations
Experience supporting SAP integrations through middleware, APIs, RFC, OData, REST, SOAP, IDocs, and related connectivity patterns
Experience with SAP monitoring, job scheduling, interface monitoring, incident management, root-cause analysis, and performance troubleshooting
Experience with cloud operations, managed services, vendor governance, and coordination with SAP support organizations
Experience supporting large-scale ERP transformation, carve-out, acquisition, or TSA exit programs is preferred
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently in complex, fast-paced environments
Proven ability to influence stakeholders and guide cross-functional teams, including business leaders, IT teams, implementation partners, and vendors
Strong communication skills, including the ability to translate technical issues, risks, and decisions into business-aligned outcomes
Work Conditions
Travel required to support U.S. locations and global manufacturing facilities as needed
