About the Role
We are looking for a Sales Representative to join our team and play an important role in supporting our customers and driving sales growth. This position is ideal for a customer-focused sales professional who has experience with industrial machinery or technical products, enjoys building relationships, and is comfortable working with customers to understand their needs and recommend solutions.
As a Sales Representative, you will support the full sales lifecycle—from initial customer engagement and product discussions through quoting, order coordination, and post-sale follow-up. You will work closely with Sales, Operations, Service, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams to ensure customers receive a professional, responsive, and informed experience.
This is a commissionable sales position with the opportunity to earn additional compensation based on sales performance. The position is responsible for a multi-state territory covering Mississippi, Eastern Louisiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Alabama and requires a willingness to travel up to 75% throughout the assigned territory, including travel to customer locations and other business-related destinations. When not traveling, the successful candidate may work remotely or from our Mandeville, Louisiana location.
The ideal candidate combines strong sales and relationship-building skills with mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial machinery, such as engines, steam turbines, generators, or similar equipment.
What You’ll Do
Sales & Customer Support
- Serve as a key point of contact for customer inquiries, providing professional guidance, product information, and service recommendations.
- Support customers throughout the sales process, from initial outreach and product discussions through quoting, order coordination, and follow-up.
- Enter and maintain customer records, product information, and other sales documentation.
- Communicate customer requirements, pricing, order details, timelines, and expectations to internal teams.
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Address customer concerns, order challenges, and communication issues, escalating complex matters when appropriate.
- Understand customer equipment and technical requirements and effectively communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical customers.
Sales Coordination & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in CRM and other sales systems.
- Track customer requests, pricing updates, order details, and other sales activities.
- Prepare sales reports, dashboards, pipeline updates, customer summaries, and other commercial insights.
- Coordinate sales meetings, customer meetings, product presentations, schedules, and follow-up activities.
- Support sales planning and strategic initiatives that contribute to revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales, Operations, Service, Marketing, and leadership teams to ensure customer needs are aligned with organizational capabilities.
- Coordinate resources, timelines, and deliverables across multiple concurrent sales opportunities.
- Communicate effectively across departments to keep sales activities moving forward.
- Work closely with technical and service personnel to understand customer requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
- Help identify and resolve workflow inefficiencies that may impact the customer experience or sales process.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Identify opportunities to improve sales processes, communication workflows, and customer engagement.
- Leverage CRM systems, quoting tools, communication platforms, and other technology to improve efficiency and visibility.
- Support system enhancements, integrations, and workflow improvements.
- Contribute to standardized sales practices, templates, documentation, and internal processes.
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain accurate sales records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Support internal audits and compliance activities related to sales, products, pricing, and service standards.
- Maintain awareness of applicable policies, confidentiality requirements, product standards, and industry-specific requirements.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in sales, account management, customer service, or a related customer-facing role.
- Industrial machinery experience is required, preferably involving equipment such as diesel/gas engines, steam turbines, generators, or other industrial power equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude is required, with the ability to understand mechanical equipment, components, systems, and customer applications.
- Experience selling or supporting the sale of industrial products, equipment, services, or technical solutions is highly desirable.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% as required to support customers and business needs.
- Experience working with CRM systems, quoting tools, and communication platforms is a plus.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, customer engagement, and professional business communication.
- Ability to understand customer requirements and translate technical information into practical solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, customers, and deadlines.
Preferred Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Account or territory management experience, with demonstrated success developing and maintaining customer relationships.
- Technical degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, Diesel Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent technical education or hands-on experience will also be considered.
- Automation experience, including exposure to industrial automation, controls, instrumentation, PLCs, control systems, or related technologies.
- Experience selling technical, industrial, power generation, marine, or engineered products and services.
- Experience managing a geographic territory and developing new business opportunities.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts and equipment applications to customers.
- Experience working collaboratively with field service, engineering, operations, and technical teams.

Compensation
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,000 – $115,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. This is a commissionable position, providing additional earning potential based on sales performance.

Work Environment & Travel
This position is based in Mandeville, Louisiana, with significant travel required to support customers and business activities.
The Sales Representative must be willing and able to travel up to 75%, including customer visits, sales meetings, industry events, and other business-related activities.
