A DAY IN THE LIFE:

Location: Field-based role ideally located in the Île-de-France area (covering Île-de-France, Hauts-de-France, Normandy, Brittany and Pays de la Loire)

Direct team: 6 (Account Managers, Clinical Sales Specialists)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Sales Manager will lead and drive commercial activities across the region described above. This role is accountable for achieving sales targets, accelerating market growth, and strengthening the capability and performance of a regional team of 6 direct reports. The Sales Manager will play a key part in executing the national commercial strategy, building strong relationships with healthcare professionals, and ensuring an excellent customer experience, in line with Tandem Diabetes International’s values and objectives.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own full accountability for the region’s commercial performance, including achievement of sales targets, market share growth, business expansion, and strategic territory planning to drive sustainable results.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of sales and clinical professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, ownership, collaboration, continuous learning, and accountability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, healthcare decision-makers, home healthcare providers, patient associations, and advocacy groups, while ensuring exceptional customer support and representing the organization at industry events and professional forums.
  • Drive effective cross-functional collaboration with internal stakeholders to support business objectives, leverage competitive intelligence, identify market opportunities, and deliver accurate performance analysis and reporting to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all internal policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards, while championing a strong patient-centric mindset and prioritizing the needs and outcomes of patients in all business activities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, skills & abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of the French healthcare system, decision-making pathways and market access challenges.
  • Excellent professional English (spoken and written), essential to succeed in an international environment (HQ interactions, reporting, training and cross-functional collaboration).
  • Strategic mindset combined with strong execution capability.
  • Results-driven, with a strong motivation to improve outcomes for people living with diabetes.
  • Inspiring leadership style, able to engage and mobilize diverse teams.
  • Adaptable in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.

Minimum certifications/educational level:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (or equivalent) preferred.

Minimum experience:

  • Proven, solid experience in sales leadership within medical devices, pharma or the wider healthcare sector (experience in diabetes is strongly preferred).
  • People management experience leading a commercial team of at least 6 direct reports.
  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to manage regional P&L, sales forecasting and market planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring and team development to consistently exceed performance targets.

JOB SCOPE

  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives.  Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions; determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Works on issues of diverse scope which require evaluation of a variety of factors and an understanding of functional area objectives and trends. 
  • Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may add to costs and impact the short-term goals of the organization.
