Position Overview
This role supports the accounting function behind a fast-moving investment business, helping ensure the books, records, and reporting are accurate and timely. You will own core accounting processes, assist with month-end close, and help maintain financial controls that support portfolio and business decisions. The role is well suited to someone who is detail-oriented and comfortable working in a small, growth-oriented environment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Maintain the general ledger and help resolve discrepancies across accounts.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash activity as needed.
- Track and organize accounting documentation for audits, tax, and internal review.
- Help improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting workflows.
- Work cross-functionally with finance and operations to support day-to-day accounting needs.
Must Have Criteria
- 3-7 years of accounting experience in a professional setting.
- Experience with general ledger accounting and account reconciliations.
- Hands-on experience supporting month-end close.
- Resume-verifiable experience preparing journal entries.
- Experience working with accounting documentation and financial records.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Experience in financial services, investment management, or real estate.
- Exposure to a small-company or high-growth environment.
- Experience supporting audit or tax requests.
- Familiarity with the accounting needs of alternative investments or multi-asset businesses.
