(SESI) has partnered with public school districts for more than 50 years to provide specialized education, alternative education, autism services, and behavioral health programs. The Northeast Region represents a cornerstone of SESI's national portfolio, serving communities across Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. The region oversees approximately $26 million in annual revenue, 11 specialized education programs, 217 employees, and three Regional Directors. The Opportunity: Regional Vice President, Northeast

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI) is seeking an accomplished executive leader to serve as Regional Vice President for the Northeast Region.

 

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, East Territory, the Regional Vice President provides strategic leadership across the Northeast region, overseeing a portfolio of approximately $26 million in annual revenue, 11 specialized education programs, and a team of two to three Regional Directors.

 

This executive is responsible for leading one of SESI's most visible regions by balancing operational excellence, educational leadership, financial stewardship, and strategic growth. Working collaboratively with Regional Directors, district leaders, executive leadership, and cross-functional partners, the Regional Vice President develops high-performing leaders, strengthens district partnerships, improves organizational performance, and ensures exceptional educational outcomes for students with specialized learning and behavioral needs.

 

This is far more than an operational leadership position. It is an opportunity to lead through influence, develop future leaders, expand educational partnerships, and help shape the future of specialized education across the Northeast. The successful candidate will inherit a strong operational foundation, the support and resources of a national organization, and the autonomy to lead the region with both strategic vision and entrepreneurial thinking.

 

Location and Compensation

This is a remote position, and candidates must reside in Connecticut, Massachusetts, or Rhode Island. The role requires regional travel of up to 40%. Compensation is commensurate with experience, with an anticipated base salary of $170,000–$200,000 and eligibility for an annual performance-based bonus of up to 30%

Responsibilities

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the overall strategy, performance, and long-term success of the Northeast Region.
  • Translate organizational priorities into regional execution and measurable outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Partner with executive leadership to advance enterprise initiatives and organizational priorities.

 

Operational & Financial Leadership

  • Oversee approximately $26 million in annual regional revenue and ensure strong financial performance.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, enrollment planning, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor operational performance through data-informed decision making.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, contractual, and organizational requirements.
  • Continuously improve operational consistency and organizational effectiveness across all programs.

 

Leadership Development

  • Recruit, coach, and develop Regional Directors and future organizational leaders.
  • Build leadership capacity throughout the region.
  • Create succession plans and invest in professional growth opportunities.
  • Foster an engaged, mission-driven culture focused on collaboration and student success.

 

District & Community Partnerships

  • Serve as the senior executive representative for SESI throughout the Northeast Region.
  • Build trusted relationships with school district leaders and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to identify opportunities for responsible growth.
  • Represent SESI with professionalism, credibility, and executive presence in the communities it serves..

 

Preferred Experience

Successful candidates will likely bring experience in one or more of the following environments:

  • Public school district leadership
  • Special education leadership
  • Alternative education programs
  • Charter management organizations
  • Behavioral health organizations
  • Multi-site educational organizations
  • Youth-serving nonprofit organizations
  • Other complex organizations operating within highly regulated environments

 

Candidates may have served in leadership roles such as:

  • Assistant Superintendent
  • Deputy Superintendent
  • Chief Academic Officer
  • Chief Operating Officer
  • Executive Director
  • Regional Vice President
  • Vice President of Operations
  • Regional Superintendent overseeing multiple campuses or districts

 

Equivalent leadership experience will also be considered.


Posted Salary Range

USD $170,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.
