JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for developing and executing short-term and long-term sales strategies for the Southeast Territory.  You will lead account retention & growth, as well as prospect development for all product lines and new customer opportunities to achieve maximum results.  You will visit customers to understand their evolving needs and assess market trends to provide the best customer centric focus possible. As a Regional Sales Manager for Hercules Aftermarket, you will be part of a dynamic sales team, committed to excellence, playing a vital part in the company’s growing success.

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Account Management/Prospecting:  60% Managing current customers’ needs and retaining them as valuable customers.  40% prospecting new customer opportunities to continue growing our sales channels. Manage, travel, and visit as necessary to establish, cultivate, and increase our business at accounts within the following states: Florida, Georgia, and Alabama.  Develop sales within OEM and MRO customer accounts using knowledge of Hercules products which has been identified to have a competitive advantage in core target markets.



 

  • Sales Planning and Strategy:  Creating and implementing comprehensive sales plans tailored to the region, including market analysis, competitor assessment, and sales forecasting. Provide a detailed six-week call schedule plan to be updated every two weeks.  Develop and maintain weekly written call reports detailing subjects discussed and action plans for each call. Information will be entered in CRM weekly. Enter all other relevant sales data into CRM and update monthly.

 

 

  • Customer Relationship Management:  Building and maintaining strong relationships with key clients within the region, identifying new business opportunities, and managing customer accounts. 

 

  • Sales Goal Setting:  Setting realistic sales targets, tracking progress, and adjusting strategies as needed.  Meet or exceed company growth targets.

 

  • Market Analysis:  Staying updated on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform sales strategies. 

 

  • Budget Management:  Provide an annual budget outlining anticipated sales and margin by state within their region.

 

  • Compliance:  Submit one monthly expense report by the 1st of the following month including applicable receipts (per company policy) via Concur. Manage travel expense spending within assigned expense budget and within our company expense policy.

 

  • Reporting and Analysis:  Regularly reporting sales performance data to senior management, identifying trends, and proposing actionable insights

  • Communication Skills:  Effectively communicate sales strategies, and build strong relationships with customers and colleagues. 
  • Sales Acumen:  Deep understanding of the sales process, including lead generation, negotiation, and closing techniques. 
  • Analytical Skills/Technical Knowledge:  Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Maintain a high degree of technical knowledge relevant to that required to fulfill your job responsibilities and objectives.
  • Strategic Thinking:  Capability to develop comprehensive sales plans and adapt to changing market conditions. 
  • Problem-Solving Skills:  Ability to identify and resolve sales challenges effectively. 
  • Professional acumen:  Successfully build relationships with new customers and continue to foster lasting relationships with our existing distributor partners.  Represent Hercules in a professional, ethical, and socially responsible manner.

 

 

 

 

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

 

  • 5 years regional sales experience in an industrial distribution or manufacturing environment with at least 2 years coordinating a multi-state territory.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management or related field preferred
  • Excellent planning and coordination skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
