Project Manager, Operations and Systems

About the Role

In this role, you will lead projects that improve how work gets done, strengthen the technology that supports our teams, and turn data into meaningful business recommendations. This position sits at the intersection of Project Management and Business Analysis within the operations department. You'll partner with leaders, technology teams, vendors, and operational stakeholders to identify opportunities, solve problems, improve processes, and deliver solutions from concept through implementation.

 

Day-to-Day, you'll...

• Lead multiple projects from planning through completion, ensuring timelines, milestones, risks, and stakeholder communications are effectively managed.
• Analyze operational data and trends using Microsoft Excel, case management system, and other reporting tools to identify opportunities for improvement and make actionable recommendations.
• Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics that provide visibility into performance, workload trends, and business outcomes.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand operational business needs, document requirements, and translate those needs into practical solutions.
• Support and enhance case management and operational business systems, including troubleshooting issues, coordinating system updates, and providing user support.
• Assist with the implementation, testing, and optimization of an employee service platform that supports tickets, chat, and phone interactions.
• Document operational processes and develop training materials that help teams adopt new tools and best practices.
• Identify and drive process improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and service quality.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver projects that create measurable business value.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
• Three or more years of experience with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), system integrations, automation, or connected business systems
• Demonstrated experience managing projects from initiation through implementation, including timelines, priorities, deadlines, and results
• Experience gathering requirements, managing stakeholders, and balancing multiple priorities
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations
• Strong understanding of how systems exchange data and support business processes
• Ability to communicate technical concepts and project updates to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams

• Human Resources operations
• Tax, financial services, or highly regulated industries
• Artificial Intelligence tools and platforms
• Project Management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. This information is posted pursuant to local requirements to provide applicants with information about what they might be eligible to receive. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed. Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan. Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.

Pay Range

$62,800.00 - $94,200.00/Yr.
