We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Production Manager to support the development and production of our clothing collections. Working closely with the Creative Director this role will help move garments from concept and design through sampling, manufacturing, quality control, and final delivery.
The ideal candidate understands apparel production, communicates effectively with vendors and internal teams, and can keep multiple styles, materials, deadlines, and production details organized. This is a hands-on role for someone who can balance creativity, precision, and operational execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Lead Fashion Designer throughout the apparel development and production process.
- Coordinate the development of garments from initial concepts and technical specifications through final production.
- Communicate with patternmakers, sample rooms, fabric suppliers, trim vendors, manufacturers, and other production partners.
- Track samples, revisions, approvals, purchase orders, production schedules, and delivery timelines.
- Review samples and help coordinate feedback related to fit, construction, materials, color, trims, and finishing.
- Maintain accurate production documents, including tech packs, bills of materials, size specifications, colorways, and revision notes.
- Assist with sourcing and ordering fabrics, trims, labels, packaging, and other garment components.
- Monitor production milestones and proactively identify delays, quality issues, supply challenges, or cost concerns.
- Help ensure garments are produced according to approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and brand guidelines.
- Coordinate fit sessions, sample reviews, approvals, and production handoffs.
- Conduct or coordinate quality control inspections throughout the production process.
- Maintain organized records of samples, materials, vendor information, costs, timelines, and production status.
- Support inventory planning and ensure materials are available when needed.
- Assist with costing, quantity planning, purchase orders, and production budgets.
- Coordinate final product checks, packing requirements, shipping details, and delivery schedules.
- Provide regular production updates to the Lead Fashion Designer and relevant internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in apparel production, garment manufacturing, fashion operations, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of the clothing production process, including sampling, fittings, patternmaking, grading, construction, and manufacturing.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to read and work with tech packs, garment specifications, measurement charts, and bills of materials.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies in garments and production documents.
- Experience communicating with factories, suppliers, sample rooms, and production vendors.
- Ability to manage multiple styles, deadlines, and production stages simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, production tracking tools, and standard office software.
- Ability to work collaboratively under the direction of a Lead Fashion Designer.
