CTG is seeking to fill a Product Owner II opening for our client.

 

Location: Remote

Duration: 4 months

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own and communicate the vision and roadmap for a large product or set of products, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and customer needs.

  • Represent the voice of the customer and stakeholders while making autonomous decisions that support product delivery and strategic objectives.

  • Prioritize and manage product backlogs based on product vision, strategy, customer value, and business priorities.

  • Write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria in partnership with Agile delivery teams, supporting Acceptance Test-Driven Development (ATDD).

  • Collaborate directly with delivery teams to establish information radiators and communication tools that provide visibility into product progress.

  • Participate in Agile team activities, ceremonies, planning sessions, and backlog refinement.

  • Build strong relationships with business partners across the organization, including senior stakeholders, using influence and accountability to drive positive outcomes.

  • Engage directly with customers to understand needs, challenges, and opportunities and translate insights into product improvements.

  • Apply design thinking, analytics, and customer feedback to focus on measurable outcomes rather than outputs.

  • Collaborate with other Product Owners and cross-functional teams to align customer journeys and manage dependencies across product backlogs.

  • Act on behalf of the Senior Product Owner as needed during periods of absence.

  • Identify and escalate risk-related issues in accordance with company risk appetite, regulatory requirements, policies, and controls.

  • Maintain internal control standards and support timely resolution of internal and external audit findings and regulatory issues, as applicable.

  • Promote an inclusive environment that supports diversity and reflects the organization's values and brand.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

The Product Owner II serves as the primary product advocate and owner for a large product or portfolio of products. This role is responsible for defining product vision and strategy, managing and prioritizing the product backlog, representing customer needs, and partnering closely with Agile delivery teams and senior stakeholders. The position requires strong business judgment, strategic thinking, customer focus, and the ability to influence outcomes across a matrixed organization.

 

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

No direct management responsibility. As an individual contributor, the Product Owner II is expected to manage activities through influence, accountability, and ownership while operating within an Agile environment.

 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of business, analytical, technical, and/or product experience; or, in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 10 years of higher education and/or work experience, including at least 6 years of business, analytical, technical, and/or product experience.

  • Experience with User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

  • Experience with defect management and reporting.

  • Experience implementing Content Management Systems (CMS).

  • Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver products and capabilities.

  • Experience managing and prioritizing product backlogs and requirements.

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • Experience prioritizing competing priorities in a rapidly changing business environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to seek and evaluate multiple perspectives while making independent decisions and influencing positive outcomes.

  • Understanding of Design Thinking principles and methodologies.

  • Knowledge of product design and development best practices.

  • Knowledge of Agile and Lean principles and practices.

  • Experience partnering with User Experience (UX) teams on product design.

  • Experience developing and managing digital capabilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience working with senior-level business stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

  • Specific subject matter expertise relevant to the assigned product or product portfolio.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $51.67 - $86.11/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
