Principal Engineering Manager (remote within EMEA)

About the role: 

We’re looking for a Principal Engineering Manager to lead a critical engineering area and raise the bar for how we build and deliver products. This is a senior leadership role for someone who combines strong engineering judgment with a deep sense of ownership.

You will work closely with Product and Design to shape solutions early, bring clarity to complex problem spaces, and help your team deliver predictably and sustainably. You’ll stay close to the work, understand what your team is building and why, and create the conditions for strong execution, healthy engineering standards, and meaningful business impact.

Your daily tasks will include:

• People & Team Leadership: Lead a team of engineers and support them through clear direction, context, and feedback.

• Strategic Partnership: Partner with Product and Design to shape solutions from the earliest stages.

• Delivery & Ownership: Own delivery from problem definition to execution, ensuring clarity, alignment, and momentum.

• Execution & Transparency: Drive predictable execution through thoughtful planning, realistic expectations, and transparency around progress and risks.

• Engineering Excellence: Maintain a high bar for engineering quality, scalability, and maintainability.

• Continuous Improvement: Contribute to broader engineering improvements through experience, collaboration, and strong leadership.
  

Your qualifications:

• Significant experience leading engineering teams within a product company.

• A strong track record of delivering complex products or systems in a fast-moving environment.

• Ability to operate comfortably in both technical and product discussions.

• Strong ownership mindset and the ability to bring clarity to ambiguous situations.

• Experience partnering closely with Product and Design.

• Clear communication skills and a practical, execution-oriented approach to leadership.

Our tech stack:

• Languages: PHP (Symfony), Node.js (TypeScript), Angular (TypeScript).

• Data: PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB, scalable data processing, distributed architectures

• Infrastructure: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, containerized environments, cloud-native services, and modern observability tooling.

• Engineering: Automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end), CI/CD, code reviews, continuous delivery, and A/B testing.

• AI-assisted development: Practical experience using LLMs and coding assistants to improve software development workflows, including implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and code quality
