Prescription Data Entry Associate (Part-Time)

Job Description

AppliedVR is looking for a part-time Prescription Data Entry Associate with a passion for transforming healthcare through innovative technology, to support the administrative fulfillment processes for our commercial business. Reporting to the Commercial Operations and Market Access Manager, the initial focus of the role will be accurately transcribing, processing, and updating patient and prescription information in the pharmacy management system while strictly adhering to state and federal compliance requirements. 

Roles & Responsibilities (are not limited to the following):

• Accurately process inbound prescription referrals received via fax and enter all required information into the company’s digital pharmacy software.
• Review prescriptions and supporting documentation, including clinical notes, patient demographics, provider information, and insurance details.
• Accurately transcribe patient, prescription, provider, and insurance information from source documents into the appropriate digital records.
• Verify that required documentation and information is complete, legible, and consistent before completing data entry.
• Identify missing, incomplete, or unclear information and route referrals to the appropriate internal team for follow-up.
• Upload and attach prescriptions and supporting clinical, demographic, and insurance documentation to the appropriate patient record.
• Perform quality checks to ensure data accuracy, correct errors, and maintain organized and complete patient records.
• Process referrals efficiently while maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA, company policies, and established data-entry procedures.

Experience & Qualifications Preferred

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 1+ years in a retail, mail-order, or hospital pharmacy setting, or a comparable medical data entry role preferred
• Typing Proficiency: Minimum 45–50 WPM with high accuracy
• Demonstrated understanding of basic medical terminology, patient records, prescriptions, and insurance concepts 
• Comfortable navigating electronic health record (EHR) systems or proprietary pharmacy software (e.g., QS/1, EnterpriseRx, PioneerRx); experience with Niko Health is a plus
• Exceptional focus and attention to detail to catch typos, prevent data mismatches, and protect patient safety
• Nice-to-have certifications: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) via PTCB or ExCPT, or Certified Durable Medical Equipment Specialist (CDME) via the Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC).
• Ability to work autonomously, remotely, in dynamic fast-paced environment

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $16-$20/hour. This is a part-time position (expected 20+ hours/week). The salary range describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position across all US locations. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to relevant qualifications, depth of experience, skill set, certifications, training, education, and specific work location. The compensation packages may be adjusted based on candidate work location, due to differences in the cost of living for the given location.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
