The project and the team

We are seeking an experienced Platform / System Validation Engineer to join our project team. In this position, you will be responsible for guaranteeing the resilience, dependability, and performance of networking platforms and hardware. You will oversee the complete system bring-up process, maintain high platform stability, and execute rigorous soak testing to ensure our solutions are fully production-ready.

What else you should know:

  • The team consists of 5 people including a tech lead, project manager, and software engineers and network engineers.

  • We use SCRUM/Agile methodology.

  • Our tech stack for the project includes: Python, C, SONiC, ONIE, TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF, VRF

  • The client is based in the US

We work on multiple interesting projects at the time, so it may happen that we’ll invite you to the interview for another project, if we see that your competencies and profile are well suited for it.

Your role

As a part of the team, will be responsible for:

  • Performing SONiC platform bring-up and ONIE installation/configuration and testing

  • Lead the initial bring-up and configuration of SONiC-based networking platforms and hardware.

  • Validate optical modules, CMIS standards, breakout cables, firmware, and underlying hardware subsystems.

  • Designing and maintaining automated test suites for platform validation

  • Validate and executing system upgrades, recovery procedures, and owning overall system stability and soak testing

  • Own the stability, reliability, and soak testing processes to guarantee long-term operational resilience.

  • Monitor and analyze thermal metrics and power consumption under various workloads.

  • Collaborating with hardware and software engineering teams to debug and resolve platform issues

Do we have a match?

As a Senior Platform / System Validation Engineer you must meet the following criteria:

  • Hands-on experience with the SONiC platform and ONIE bootloaders (platform bring-up, installation, and configuration)

  • Solid understanding of optical modules, CMIS standards, and port breakout configurations

  • Experience with firmware upgrades, system recovery protocols, and bootloaders

  • Proficiency in thermal and power monitoring interfaces and testing

  • Proven track record of owning platform stability, resilience, and long-duration soak testing

  • Proficiency in Python and C for building automated test suites

  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, firmware, and software boundaries

  • Good knowledge of computer networking protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, OSPF, VRF)

  • Familiarity with white-box switching hardware and data center network topologies

  • Working knowledge of Linux systems

  • Good command of English (B2 level or higher)

Nice-to-Have Tools & Technologies

  • Good knowledge of SDN and NFV

  • Experience working with distributed systems
