People Operations Generalist

America Remote / Hybrid San Francisco, CA · Full-Time

About Andromeda

Andromeda is a market and infrastructure platform to buy, sell, and operate compute.

We believe demand for compute will grow exponentially. So fast that a handful of vertically integrated providers won't be able to scale across operations, capital, supply chains, and politics to serve it. The result is a massive wave of fragmentation, with AI factories of every shape and size coming to market to fill this demand. Our job is to enable all of that fragmented compute to flow through one platform, delivering reliable capacity to model builders, research labs, and inference providers when they need it. We believe every spare electron should be made productive for AI and we're building the platform that makes that possible.

We sit at the center of three forces:

  • Companies that need reliable, high-performance compute fast

  • A fragmented global supply of GPUs across hyperscalers, neoclouds, and independent data centers

  • Capital, risk, and operational complexity that most teams are not equipped to manage

When we succeed, trillions of dollars of compute will flow through Andromeda. Builders get capacity when they need it. Providers get a reliable way to monetize, operate, and finance infrastructure at scale. Capital gets an easy way to deploy, hedge, and underwrite.

In five years, Andromeda won't just participate in the AI infrastructure market. We will shape it.

The Role

We’re hiring our first dedicated People Operations leader to run the day-to-day employee experience and build the processes behind it. You’ll own onboarding through offboarding, payroll and benefits operations, performance-review cycles, employee records, and routine employee and manager support. You’ll partner with Talent on hiring handoffs, Finance on payroll, IT on employee readiness, and leadership and counsel on decisions that need their approval or judgment.

What You’ll Own

  • Run the employee lifecycle from accepted offer through offboarding, including preboarding, onboarding, internal moves, approved compensation changes, leaves, and departures. Coordinate the handoffs among Talent, managers, IT, Finance, and payroll providers.

  • Serve as a primary resource for employee and manager questions, gathering context, resolving routine issues, and escalating sensitive or complex matters appropriately.

  • Keep employee records accurate across HR, payroll, benefits, and equity systems. Reconcile approved changes, audit records and workflows, and resolve discrepancies before they affect employees or payroll.

  • Build and improve People systems, processes, templates, playbooks, reporting, and self-service resources that make the employee experience more consistent and scalable.

  • Own day-to-day benefits administration, including enrollment, eligibility records, employee questions, carrier and broker follow-up, and renewal preparation. Bring plan-design and spending decisions to leadership.

  • Own payroll readiness and inputs: reconcile employee changes, leave data, and approved compensation and commission changes with Finance and payroll providers; investigate exceptions before each payroll run.

  • Run performance-review cycles: set the calendar, configure the tools, guide managers and employees, track completion, coordinate calibration, document outcomes, and process approved changes. Managers and leadership own assessments, ratings, and compensation decisions.

  • Maintain the People Operations compliance calendar and records for required notices, training, registrations, and policy acknowledgments. Coordinate legal questions and country-specific requirements with counsel, payroll providers, and employers of record.

  • Lead discrete People Operations projects from problem definition through implementation, including process changes, system enhancements, and employee communications.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in People Operations or HR Operations, including direct ownership of employee lifecycle, benefits, and payroll processes in a growing company.

  • Demonstrated experience managing employee lifecycle processes and supporting employees and managers with discretion, care, and sound judgment.

  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS platforms and comfort learning connected People systems, such as ATS, payroll, and benefits.

  • Experience running performance-review cycles and carrying approved outcomes through to accurate employee records and payroll changes.

  • Working knowledge of employment-law and compliance fundamentals.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a high standard for data accuracy, process quality, and follow-through.

Strong Candidates May Have

  • Experience helping an early-stage or high-growth company scale People systems and practices.

  • Experience coordinating employment through an employer of record or supporting employees in more than one country.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Meaningful work: Our company is growing rapidly and as headcount increases, so does the criticality of people operations.

  • True ownership: You will be our first people operations hire and will have the opportunity to shape the people operations function at Andromeda firsthand and build processes, systems, and programs from the ground up.

  • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity: Share in the value you help create.

  • Comprehensive benefits for you and your dependents, including healthcare, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), and unlimited PTO.
