We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to process bi-weekly payrolls. The Payroll Specialist plays a crucial role in improving payroll processes and supporting the objectives of the Payroll Department. This position will be full-time and remote.
What You'll Do
Participate in audits, taking on a key role when necessary
Process U.S. payroll for over 2,000 employees using Workday
Assess and improve current payroll processes to establish best practices and increase efficiency
Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Payroll Department
Ensure timely distribution of reports to meet payroll deadlines, policies, procedures, and regulations
Maintain alignment with departmental and CAI goals, focusing on achievement and customer service
Assist with annual W-2 preparation and year-end processes
Manage sensitive situations with diplomacy while ensuring integrity and confidentiality
What You'll Need
Required:
At least 3 years of payroll experience
Solid understanding of payroll fundamentals, practices, and procedures
Knowledge of 401(k) contributions and payroll implications
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem resolution
Familiar with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective teamwork
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to analyze and interpret data for appropriate actions and follow-up
Preferred:
Experience with Workday is advantageous, and familiarity with ADP provider is beneficial, but not mandatory
Certified Payroll Professional credentials are a plus but not a prerequisite
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

$46,000 - $52,000 per yearThe pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role receive paid time off and may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
