Silver Linings Credentialing is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Provider Enrollment and Credentialing Specialist for a flexible, as-needed position. This opportunity is ideal for a dependable professional with hands-on experience credentialing behavioral health and medical providers.



The position will begin with limited, variable contract hours based on client enrollment volume and active credentialing projects. As Silver Linings Credentialing continues to grow, this role may develop into a more consistent part-time W-2 position with increased hours.

We work diligently to ensure that behavioral health and medical providers—including physicians, nurse practitioners, therapists, and other healthcare professionals—are properly credentialed and enrolled with insurance companies and payer networks across the United States.



Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the complete provider enrollment and credentialing process, including initial applications, follow-up, enrollment, and recredentialing.
  • Verify provider education, training, work history, licensure, certifications, and other required credentials.
  • Complete and submit accurate provider enrollment applications to Medicare and commercial insurance payers.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Medicare Parts A, B, and C.
  • Enroll and credential providers with in-state and out-of-state payers.
  • Communicate directly with insurance companies to track applications, resolve issues, and obtain timely updates.
  • Negotiate insurance contracts and reimbursement rates.
  • Maintain and assist with delegated credentialing agreements.
  • Guide healthcare providers through required paperwork and answer questions about the enrollment process.
  • Stay informed about changing regulations and standards established by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Office of Inspector General (OIG), The Joint Commission (TJC), and other applicable organizations.
  • Maintain complete and accurate provider records, reports, and application updates in MedTrainer.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve credentialing and enrollment concerns.
  • Assist with training and supporting other team members as needed.



Required Qualifications

  • Must currently reside in North Carolina.
  • Previous hands-on experience with provider enrollment and credentialing for both behavioral health and medical providers.
  • Strong working knowledge of Medicare enrollment, including Medicare Parts A, B, and C.
  • Experience completing applications for commercial insurance companies and multistate payer networks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple applications, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with applicable credentialing standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience using MedTrainer or a comparable credentialing database.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with providers and team members.
  • Experience with insurance contract and reimbursement-rate negotiations.



Schedule and Growth Potential

  • Flexible, part-time, as-needed position
  • Must be available more than just nights and weekends
  • Hours vary based on client volume and active credentialing projects
  • No guaranteed minimum number of weekly hours initially
  • Potential to develop into a more consistent part-time role with increased hours as the company grows
  • This position can be hydride or 100% remote. The main office is in Cary, NC.
