Identify and engage prospective individual and corporate members, build relationships with HR professionals and decision-makers, and guide interested prospects through membership conversion and onboarding. Develop partnership opportunities, maintain CRM and prospect pipelines, and track outreach and membership growth.
We are looking for a proactive, relationship-driven Membership Development Executive to help grow a professional HR community by identifying prospective members, building relationships with HR decision-makers and communicating the value of becoming part of the network.
This role focuses on growing membership by developing new relationships with HR professionals and organisations that would benefit from joining the community.
You will take a proactive approach to identifying potential members, initiating conversations, following up on opportunities and helping convert interest into membership. You will also support the development of corporate relationships and partnerships that contribute to the wider growth of the network.
The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with people, opening doors, building professional relationships and identifying opportunities for growth. They should be comfortable with proactive outreach and working towards membership growth objectives, while taking a consultative and relationship-led approach.
This is a membership development and relationship-building role, not a marketing or social media position.
Membership development: Identify prospective individual and corporate members who would benefit from joining the professional community.
Prospecting and outreach: Research potential members and initiate contact through LinkedIn, email, telephone and other relevant professional channels.
Relationship building: Build and maintain relationships with HR professionals, senior HR leaders and relevant business decision-makers.
Membership conversion: Communicate the benefits of membership, follow up with interested prospects and guide them through the membership process.
Corporate engagement: Identify organisations that could benefit from engaging with the network and develop relationships with relevant stakeholders.
Partnership opportunities: Explore potential partnerships with relevant organisations, service providers and industry contacts to support membership growth.
Event and network engagement: Identify opportunities to connect with prospective members through industry events, networking activities and existing community relationships.
Member onboarding: Support new members as they join the community and encourage ongoing participation and engagement.
CRM and pipeline management: Maintain accurate records of prospective members, outreach activity, conversations, follow-ups and membership opportunities.
Growth reporting: Track membership development activity, monitor progress and identify opportunities to improve outreach and conversion.
Previous experience in membership development and growth, relationship management, account management, partnerships, client acquisition or a similar client-facing role.
Experience building relationships with corporate clients, professional networks or business decision-makers.
Confidence initiating conversations with new contacts and conducting proactive outreach.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and communicate value effectively.
A proactive and organised approach to prospecting, follow-ups and managing multiple opportunities.
Experience using a CRM system or maintaining a structured client or prospect pipeline.
A commercially minded approach, with an interest in developing relationships and contributing to measurable growth.
Experience working for a professional association, membership organisation or industry network.
Exposure to HR, financial services, employee benefits, corporate training or other business-to-business services.
Experience engaging senior professionals or decision-makers.
Experience supporting membership acquisition, client onboarding, partnership development or account growth.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys developing professional relationships and identifying opportunities to grow a network or client base.
You may currently work in account management, client relationship management, membership development, partnerships or business development within a professional services or corporate environment.
Direct membership experience would be beneficial but is not essential. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong relationship-building skills, confidence with proactive outreach and the ability to turn initial conversations into lasting professional relationships.
This is an opportunity to contribute directly to the growth of a professional HR community, build relationships across the industry and help connect more HR professionals and organisations with the network.
