BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the United Nations frontline agency fi ghting hunger. WFP reaches more than 100 million people every day - delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with smallholder farmers, communities, and governments to improve nutrition and build resilience.
The WFP Innovation Accelerator was launched by the United Nations (UN) World Food Programme in 2015 to source new ideas, sprint pilot projects, and scale high-impact innovations by connecting them with WFP’s global network in over 120 countries and territories. From its base in Munich, Germany, the WFP Innovation Accelerator has grown to become one of the world's leading social impact startup accelerators.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working under the guidance of the SDG Acceleration Unit and the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEL) taskforce at the WFP Innovation Accelerator, the selected candidate will be responsible for:

1. Directly coordinating MEL programmes
o Co-ordinate MEL activities for multi-stakeholder programmes
o Work with third party monitoring agencies to conduct mid-term reviews
o Analyze data relating to vaccination, nutrition, and maternal health outcomes and highlight key trends, providing biweekly analyses and facilitating data deep-dive sessions.
o Travel to Somalia required
2. Drive the implementation of Innovation Accelerator MEL activities Page 1 of 3
o Defi ne key performance indicators and milestones for the innovation projects and innovation programs, and assure their implementation, impact measurement, and reporting.
o `Analyze data of innovations and programmes to identify key insights and trends.
o Co-ordinate the collection of data across diverse innovation programs and projects to support reporting to multiple stakeholders and creation of relevant programme knowledge.
o Communicate trends and facilitate learning workshops drawing on these trends to encourage engagement with data for adaptive programme management. Support innovation teams, WFP units, and partners to integrate MEL approaches into innovation projects and programmes.
3. Implementation of the MEL framework for the WFP Innovation Accelerator
o Create and present data analyses to support strategic decision making by management.
o Promote the sharing of key data and lessons learned across the accelerator and wider WFP Innovation community.
o Support the performance reporting offi cer in defi nition of metrics and methodologies and collection of data for corporate reporting
o Support the end-of-year metrics collection across WFP Innovation
o Maintain and oversee data pipelines and knowledge systems
4. Co-create tools and resources for improved data collection and analysis
o Work with the Accelerator Metrics Focal Points group and the WFP Innovation Monitoring Thematic to design and develop tools that simplify data collection and analysis. This may include resources such as survey templates, instructions for calculations, and data analysis guidelines.
5. General support
o Support and contribute to other accelerator and WFP innovation activities as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:
A university degree in a relevant fi eld (preferably in social sciences, data science, or related fi eld)
Experience:
3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in developing MEL systems including the preparation of MEL frameworks, creation and maintenance of data collection tools and plans, quality assurance and data analysis. Experience in Innovation is a plus.
