Gamma Surgery Center LLC in Pittsburgh, PA is looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing/Coding Specialist to join our dedicated healthcare team. Responsibilities:
Accurately assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to surgical procedures and diagnoses
Submit and follow up on medical claims to insurance carriers, Medicare, and Medicaid
Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpayments in a timely manner
Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts and reconcile billing records
Verify patient insurance eligibility and obtain necessary pre-authorizations
Communicate with physicians, clinical staff, and payers to resolve billing discrepancies
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and coding guidelines
Requirements:
Experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a surgical or outpatient setting
Familiar with Surgical Information Systems (SIS) computer system
Proficiency with ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding certification preferred
Familiarity with insurance claim submission, EOBs, and denial management
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer billing requirements
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills
