Summary

The Manager, MEAL provides leadership in monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning across MiracleFeet’s programs, with a strong focus on data quality, data use, and decision‑support systems. This role supports the Associate Director of MEAL and works cross‑functionally with Technical, Programs, Clinical, and Digital/Product teams to ensure consistent, reliable, and actionable data is available to staff, partners, leadership, and donors.

 

The Manager, MEAL plays a key role in strengthening organizational approaches to measurement, learning, and accountability, supporting treatment quality, program effectiveness, and continuous improvement across MiracleFeet’s global portfolio. This position reports to the Associate Director of MEAL within the Technical Team and works closely with the Programs, Clinical, and Digital/Product teams as well as Senior leadership and external partners.

 

Manager, MEAL is a remote role to be based in either the United States or one of our 39 partner countries

 

Essential Functions

MEAL Leadership & Best Practices

  • Manage and conduct assigned MEAL and Technical Team initiatives that strengthen MiracleFeet’s data systems, tools, and approaches
  • Support development, documentation, and communication of MEAL and Clinical indicators that promote consistent information use across teams
  • Promote best practices in data privacy, child safeguarding, parental rights, and ethical data use
  • Strengthen organizational capacity for results measurement, transparency, and learning 

Technical M&E Systems & Operations

  • Lead or support development and maintenance of systems, SOPs, and processes governing data collection, management, and use
  • Support field‑level data quality assurance processes, particularly related to digital data collection and clinic‑level use
  • Lead or contribute to development of data audit and data quality assurance (DQA) approaches suitable for internal learning and donor accountability
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of key measures used by Programs and Clinical teams 

Data Analysis, Learning & Reporting

  • Compile and analyze clinical quality indicators and other key program data for internal and external reporting
  • Conduct routine and ad hoc data extraction and analysis for staff, partners, leadership, and donors
  • Support or lead special studies, evaluations, and learning initiatives, including management of external consultants when applicable
  • Support effective communication of data insights through reports, presentations, dashboards, and visualizations (e.g., high-quality tables and figures)

Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Special Initiatives

  • Collaborate with the Digital/Product team to strengthen data tools and workflows supporting data quality and use
  • Support testing and validation of evaluation approaches for new or innovative program models
  • Contribute MEAL expertise to business development, donor engagement, and annual grant renewal processes as needed
  • Support quantitative data analysis to inform program improvement and treatment quality

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in public health, social science, statistics, evaluation, or a related field
  • Minimum 6 years of professional experience designing and implementing M&E or MEAL activities for complex programs, preferably in low‑resource or global health settings
  • Demonstrated mastery of diverse measurement, analytical, and evaluation techniques
  • Strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills in English
  • Deep experience using data systems and analytical tools (e.g., Salesforce or similar databases; statistical or analytical software such as R, Stata, Python; and ODK-based survey programs such as KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience with conducting surveys, including survey design, programming, implementation, data processing and documentation, and analysis of survey data
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities across teams and time zones
  • Ability to translate quantitative analytical results into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences, including non-technical audiences, through written products (narrative), as well as easy-to-interpret visualizations or well-annotated spreadsheets.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience supporting clinical or health‑related programs
  • Professional experience working in low‑ and middle‑income countries or demonstrated cross‑cultural competence
  • Experience designing and delivering technical training to non‑technical audiences
  • Knowledge of research ethics, informed consent, and data privacy standards
  • Professional proficiency in an additional language (e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic)

 

Salary/Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience and location.
  • Manager, MEAL is a remote role to be based in either the United States or one of our 39 partner countries.
  • MiracleFeet will offer paid time off (including 10 national holidays based on contractor country of residence) as well as travel insurance. (US applicants will also have access to health benefits, 401K, Life Insurance benefits).
