Business Development Manager for Nutrition & Wellness in India will drive growth of NSF’s sports nutrition and wellness certification portfolio by retaining and expanding key clients, building strong relationships with retailers, brands, and manufacturers, and developing a high quality sales pipeline that accelerates market share and new revenue, while identifying cross sell opportunities across NSF’s global services.  quality sales pipeline that accelerates market share and new revenue, while identifying cross sell opportunities across NSF’s global services.

Key Responsibilities but are not limited to :

  • Own the research, key targets, and win key clients from key competitors through outreach, relationship building, contract negotiation, and tailored service packages. 
  • Build and maintain sustainable, trusting partnerships with existing accounts and high potential growth targets. 
  • Support NSF’s visibility by participating in trade shows, seminars, and industry events. 
  • Will be proactive in the development of growth customers, converting them into key account status and ensuring long‑term retention and revenue expansion.
  • Prepare for and conduct prospect and client meetings (approx. 50% in person / 50% virtual). 
  • Collaborate with internal business units to deliver strategic projects and ensure seamless client service. 
  • Create sales plans, pipelines, and forecasts for the assigned territory or certification program. 
  • Analyze regional market trends, look at innovation/ NPD and collaborate with marketing to design and execute targeted strategies. 
  • Maintain strong, ongoing customer relationships to expand business opportunities across NSF’s offerings. 
  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the territory and the program, applying strong account planning and territory management skills. 
  • Communicate effectively (written, verbal, and presentations) with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Work closely with HQ, regional and central marketing teams to make sure the program is customer centric and disruptive to the marketplace. 
  • Exceed goals, KPI’s and expectations of the Business Unit as required 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant topic
  • Demonstrable experience of working with or for supplement brands, supplement manufacturers, retailers, ingredient houses.
  • Successful and sustained track record in a results driven sales role within a commercial function in the tic sector
  • Demonstrable experience in planning, prospecting, and winning large scale business, ideally within the TIC sectors
  • Experience in the use of CRM tools, such as salesforce

 

Knowledge and skills:

  • Ability to plan strategic market approaches, make data‑driven decisions, and deliver successful outcomes through skilled planning, needs‑based selling, and proactive prospecting

  • Creative and entrepreneurial thinking to exploit niche and enterprise level opportunities

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to confidently manage key stakeholder relationships at senior and C-suite level

  • Excellent negotiation, persuasion, and presentation skills

  • Ability to hunt new business

 

Preferred Requirements :

Working knowledge of essential supplements to wellness items certification and verification schemes

Others :

  • Travel is required to sites that are accessible by car. Must have a valid driving license and means of travel

  • Have a flexible approach to working around different multiple time zones as part of a global organization, along with the ability to undertake international travel and stay overnight when required
