LVC Training & Simulation Center of Excellence (COE) Lead

Job Description

Accenture Federal Services delivers advanced modeling, simulation, and synthetic training solutions that helps US Federal and Defense, and its coalition partners build and sustain readiness across all domains. Demand for these solutions is growing rapidly, and our Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) Training & Simulation Center of Excellence is scaling to meet it. We are seeking a senior leader to run the COE and accelerate the maturity and delivery of the capability so it outpaces mission needs.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will own the reference architecture and standards for our synthetic training environment, integrate the mix of simulations, game engines, command-and-control systems, and terrain into one interoperable environment, and guide the delivery and demonstration cadence that keeps it materially relevant to the mission in an accelerating needs landscape. You understand this market as a system of systems rather than a single product, and you can personally compose the solution, brief it to senior customers, and answer hard technical questions.

Because this is an accelerating practice, the role also carries a real growth mandate: you will help set the market strategy, build relationships, qualify pipeline, and shape and win priority pursuits. Roughly half of the job is building and running the capability and the team; the other half is building the business behind it.

The work

Own the technical direction

• Set and maintain the reference architecture and interoperability standards for the LVC / synthetic training environment: how simulation and computer-generated forces, image generation, game engines, command-and-control and data services, and terrain and 3D content compose into one environment through open standards (e.g., HLA, DIS, TENA, MSDL).
• Establish the engineering standards, integration patterns, and quality and security gates the team builds to, and serve as the senior technical authority to customer program leadership.
• Evaluate tools and technologies across the ecosystem and decide what to adopt, build, or partner for; keep the architecture current as the market and mission evolve.

Architect and integrate the environment

• Lead the design and integration of the composable synthetic environment end to end, resolving interoperability across simulations, engines, C2/data services, and terrain.
• Translate operational and technical requirements into a differentiated, defensible solution and value proposition.
• Own model and environment verification, validation, and configuration management so results and demonstrations are credible for their intended use.

Guide delivery and demonstrations

• Guide delivery of the capability, including demonstrations, exercise support, and the operating cadence that keeps the environment current; own quality, schedule, risk, and security posture.
• Plan and run demonstrations and events that turn the environment into a credible, repeatable proof point for customers.
• Recommend where to invest (IR&D, tooling, technology, partnerships) to sustain long-term technical differentiation.

Build and lead the team

• Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent; grow an understudy and a partner bench so the capability never rests on a single person.
• Manage the partner and vendor ecosystem: pre-agree teaming and escalation so specialist depth is available on demand.
• Coach engineers and partners on the integrated toolset and an AI-enabled way of working.

Grow the practice

• Contribute to the growth strategy for LVC training and simulation: where the market is heading, where we differentiate, and how we win.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships across DoD and coalition training and readiness stakeholders (operational, requirements, program management, acquisition, and budget), and represent the practice at major industry events.
• Build and qualify a pipeline aligned to our priorities, shape requirements and acquisition strategies ahead of formal solicitations, and lead priority captures from qualification through award, including teaming, solution and win strategy, and proposal readiness.

Here's what you need

• Deep, current knowledge of the composable LVC / synthetic-training ecosystem is an absolute must: how simulation and computer-generated forces, image generation, game engines, command-and-control and data services, and terrain and 3D content compose into one interoperable environment through open standards (e.g., HLA, DIS, TENA, MSDL), and how that serves multi-domain training and decision support. You understand this market as a system of systems, not a single product.
• 10+ years in modeling, simulation, and synthetic training, including hands-on architecture and integration of LVC or distributed simulation environments, with a track record of owning the technical standard and integration approach at program or enterprise scale.
• Experience leading technical delivery teams and working directly with customer program leadership, including responsibility for quality, schedule, risk, and security posture.
• A hands-on, action-oriented leader who can personally shape solutions, brief senior customers, answer hard technical questions live, and develop the people around them.
• Significant DoD experience and a working command of the federal acquisition process (FAR/DFARS, contract vehicles, and customer buying behaviors), with enough business development and capture experience to help shape requirements, qualify pipeline, and win pursuits in the training, readiness, or modeling-and-simulation market.
• Active relationships within at least one major DoD or coalition training and readiness acquisition or operational ecosystem, and the ability to use them to position differentiated solutions ahead of formal solicitations.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events (roughly 25%, or as pursuits require).
• S. Citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (Secret).

Bonus points if you have

• Hands-on experience with the tools in this ecosystem, for example simulation and CGF (e.g., VBS4, MACE, SWORD), image generation and game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal, Omniverse), interoperability middleware (e.g., HLA/DIS/TENA gateways), terrain and 3D content pipelines, and C2 / data services.
• Palantir (PLTR) experience is a strong plus, particularly hands-on with its AI-enabled decision-support and mission-command platforms for multi-domain command and control, and the ability to integrate them across the synthetic-training stack.
• Experience applying AI and automation to synthetic environments and to the engineering and pursuit lifecycle (agentic / AI-enabled workflows).
• Established relationships across the LVC / M&S partner and vendor ecosystem, and experience with coalition training programs and major international industry events.
• Familiarity with capture and proposal methodology (e.g., Shipley) and color-team discipline; APMP, PMP, or a comparable credential.
• An active Secret or Top Secret / SCI clearance.
• A relevant advanced degree in engineering, computer science, operations research, or a related field.

Security Clearance

U.S. Citizenship is required (U.S. Government contract requirement). This role may involve access to technical data that is export-controlled under ITAR/EAR, so access is limited to U.S. Citizens. An active Secret clearance is preferred, or the ability to obtain one; higher-cleared work (Top Secret / SCI) may be required for some pursuits. The role is remote within the United States, with travel to customer sites and industry events; some tasks may require client-provided systems to access controlled data.
