Legal Counsel

Summary:

We are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our Legal and Compliance team, with a focus on commercial contract negotiation and licensing. Working as part of the wider legal and compliance team you will lead on contract negotiations for both suppliers and B2B customers, assist with tenders and procurement processes, provide legal advice to the business and the wider compliance team, as well as assisting the Licensing and Regulatory team on a range of B2B and B2C online gambling applications around the world.

Your day to day:

• Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, you will have responsibility for drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of supplier and customer contracts for a regulated iGaming business covering a range of jurisdictions, with a predominant focus on regulated US gambling, including but not limited to technology procurement, revenue share agreements and licensing deals.
• Assisting the licensing team with a range of applications and due diligence for regulators globally, as well as providing support in relation to material regulatory communications.
• Advising the business on legal risks across a range of commercial matters and strategic decisions, including corporate, IP.
• Supporting our compliance and AML teams on regulations and complex customer cases.
• Occasional assistance in disputes and litigation.
• Assisting with the legal aspects of preparing commercial tenders.
• Work closely with key stakeholders including C-Suite, Compliance, Delivery, Licensing and Finance.
• Any other related tasks as reasonably required.

What we are looking for:

• A UK or US qualified solicitor/attorney with 2-4 years PQE.
• Proven track record in high-value commercial negotiations.
• High-quality drafting ability.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with a wide global remit.
• Expert written and oral communication skills, with an ability to tailor legal advice to a range of audiences from sales to C-Suite to developers.
• A commercial approach to legal advice, balancing legal issues with business operations and providing relevant, constructive solutions.

Nice to have:

• Experience in online gambling or similar regulated fields is preferred.
• Licensing experience.
• Experience working with external counsel and regulatory authorities.
