and crypto. 

We produce editorial content, research, newsletters, and live events that bring together the operators, investors, regulators, and technologists building this space. Our audience spans finance, crypto, technology, and policy.
At NEXT, transparency and trust are central to how the company operates, and that same integrity-first mindset should be reflected in every news article and piece of content published under our brands. 

This is a ground-floor opportunity. You will be one of the first editorial hires on a brand being built from scratch, backed by an established events and media group with a proven track record of scaling B2B media brands and events internationally. 

The Role 

We are looking for a versatile journalist & editor to help shape NEXTPredict's editorial output day to day. This role is equal parts writer, editor, and editorial operator. You'll produce original reporting, sharpen and tighten the work of other contributors, keep the site aligned with our editorial and SEO standards, and help find story angles that make NEXTPredict's coverage distinct. 

You should know, or be genuinely curious to learn, the prediction markets space inside and out, including: the operators, the regulatory questions, the platforms, and the debates the community cares about. That industry knowledge will inform both your own reporting and the editorial judgment and guidance you bring to the rest of the team's work. 

Key Responsibilities 

Editorial Standards & Guidelines 

• Help implement and maintain NEXTPredict's editorial guidelines, ensuring consistency in tone, structure, and quality across contributors 

• Apply and reinforce SEO guidelines across new and existing content, balancing search performance with editorial integrity 

• Serve as a point of reference for other writers on house style, sourcing standards, and publishing workflow 

• Contribute industry knowledge and ideas when reviewing existing evergreen content, flagging opportunities to tighten, update, or better align it with NEXTPredict's editorial and SEO goals 
  
  

Original Reporting & Story Development 

• Stay closely tuned to the prediction markets industry and help track platforms, regulation, key players, and emerging debates 

• Develop and work sources to produce original reporting that furthers NEXTPredict's brand and domain authority, upholding sound sourcing practices and journalistic integrity throughout  

• Identify unique story angles and narrative threads that differentiate NEXTPredict's coverage from generic industry reporting 

• Move quickly on breaking news and fast-developing stories, balancing speed with accuracy under deadline pressure 

• Pitch and write original articles, explainers, and news analysis on a regular cadence 
  
  

Editing & Writer Development 

• Edit contributor drafts for clarity, structure, accuracy, and adherence to editorial/SEO guidelines 

• Provide constructive feedback that helps other writers improve over time, not just fixes for the piece at hand 

• Flag recurring issues across contributors and suggest process or guideline updates to address them 
  
  

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

• Work with the wider editorial and data journalism team to ensure a consistent voice across formats 

• Coordinate with SEO/growth stakeholders to align content decisions with broader site performance goals 

• Help extend the reach of NEXTPredict's content and brand across social channels as needed 
  
  

How We Will Measure Success 

• Consistency and quality of published content against editorial and SEO guidelines 

• Improvement in contributor writing quality over time 

• Contribution to NEXTPredict's overall site authority including metrics like keyword rankings, domain authority growth, and earned backlinks from credible outlets 

• Volume and distinctiveness of original story angles pitched and published 

• Overall editorial cohesion across NEXTPredict's content output 
  
  

Requirements 

• 5+ years experience as a journalist and/or editor, ideally in digital media, trade press, or a fast-moving online publication 

• Working knowledge of SEO best practices for editorial content 

• Strong news judgment and ability to spot unique, differentiated story angles 

• Comfort editing others' work constructively, with an eye for both craft and consistency 

• Excellent written communication and command of house style/editorial standards 

• Self-starter mentality: comfortable building process from scratch with limited infrastructure, taking initiative and ownership of outcomes 

• Motivated by the chance to make a meaningful, visible contribution on a small, growing team 

• Able to work core US-East Coast hours, with some flexibility to cover market news outside standard hours as our coverage extends into global markets 

• Willingness to learn and adapt coverage to new emerging verticals and global markets as NEXTPredict's scope grows 
  
  

Nice to Have 

• Existing knowledge of, or strong interest in, prediction markets, fintech, and crypto 

• Experience mentoring or managing junior writers/contributors 

• Experience auditing and refreshing evergreen or archival content for SEO performance 

• Familiarity with the affiliate model 

• Experience with content analytics tools 

• Comfortable picking up the phone and building
  relationships with sources for beat reporting and interviews  

• Understanding of AI-enabled editorial or SEO workflows
