Our client is looking for an Investor Relations Specialist to build strong relationships with qualified investors and guide them confidently through the investment journey, from initial interest through onboarding and funding.
Their organization operates in the alternative investment space, helping investors diversify beyond traditional markets through income-focused and non-correlated investment strategies. In recent years, they have expanded across multiple alternative asset classes while building a growing educational platform and investor community.
This position is ideal for someone who combines the relationship-building ability of a strong sales professional with a solid understanding of investments and financial concepts. The Investor Relations Specialist will communicate directly with accredited investors, understand their objectives, clearly explain available opportunities, answer investment-related questions, and maintain consistent follow-up throughout the decision-making process.
Because many investors are working professionals, flexibility is important. The successful candidate should be comfortable connecting with investors during some evenings and weekends when necessary.
Responsibilities
- Develop trusted relationships with accredited and qualified investors through phone calls, Zoom meetings, text messages, and email.
- Engage inbound prospects, webinar participants, returning investors, and other qualified leads through proactive and consistent outreach.
- Learn about each investor's financial objectives, priorities, questions, and investment preferences to provide relevant information.
- Present current investment opportunities in a clear and professional way, including the underlying asset, investment structure, expected timeline, projected returns, and potential tax considerations.
- Translate investment concepts and deal structures into straightforward explanations that investors can easily understand.
- Address common investor questions confidently while maintaining professional and accurate communication.
- Support prospective investors throughout the onboarding process, including accreditation requirements, subscription documentation, and funding steps.
- Maintain organized and accurate CRM records, including investor notes, pipeline stages, next steps, and follow-up activities.
- Consistently follow up with interested prospects and existing investors to keep conversations moving forward.
- Partner closely with the executive team to strengthen investor messaging, communication processes, and the overall investor experience.
- Build long-term investor relationships based on credibility, responsiveness, transparency, and strong communication.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience in investor relations, high-value/consultative sales, financial services, capital raising, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct polished, professional conversations with accredited or high-net-worth investors.
- Strong understanding of fundamental investment concepts and the ability to discuss investment structures, asset classes, timelines, projected returns, and related considerations.
- Familiarity with private placements and the questions prospective investors commonly ask when evaluating an opportunity.
- Strong closing, qualification, active listening, relationship-building, and follow-up capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Fluent American English with a neutral accent, suitable for frequent investor-facing conversations.
- Confidence communicating through phone, video calls, email, and text.
- Strong organizational skills and disciplined CRM management.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information in a concise and accessible manner.
- Availability to communicate with investors during some evenings and weekends, as many prospects may be unavailable during standard Monday–Friday working hours.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating effectively with leadership.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in investor relations, capital raising, closing high-value sales, or financial services.
- Direct experience working with accredited investors is strongly valued.
- Background in private equity, alternative investments, private placements, real estate investing, private credit, or similar investment environments is highly desirable.
- Previous experience raising capital or contributing directly to investment closings is a strong advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to build credibility and trust with sophisticated prospects.
