Director level reporting to SVP, Total Rewards
Position Summary
The Director, International Benefits is responsible for the strategy, design, governance, implementation, and ongoing management of employee benefits programs across multiple countries and regions. This role ensures that global benefits offerings are competitive, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with the organization's Total Rewards philosophy, business objectives, and employee value proposition.
The Director will partner closely with HR, Finance, Legal, Payroll, Procurement, and external vendors to develop and administer benefits programs that support employee well-being while balancing regulatory requirements and financial stewardship. The role requires deep expertise in global benefits practices, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to influence stakeholders across diverse markets.
Key Responsibilities
Global Benefits Strategy & Design
Develop and execute the organization's international benefits strategy in alignment with Total Rewards objectives and business priorities
Evaluate and enhance benefits programs across international markets in all countries with PTC employees except US and Canada
Lead relationships with global benefits consultants, brokers, insurers, and third-party administrators
Conduct regular market assessments to ensure competitiveness and alignment with local labor market practices
Establish benefits governance frameworks, guiding principles, and program standards across regions. Manage international benefits budgets and monitor program costs and utilization trends. Develop any financial analyses, business cases, and recommendations for leadership decision-making.
Develop recommendations for harmonization and optimization opportunities while maintaining compliance with local market requirements
Oversee the delivery and administration of international benefits programs, including any healthcare, life/disability insurance, retirement/pension programs, well-being initiatives, ESPP, and any other benefit related offerings
Ensure effective management of broker as well as annual renewals and ongoing program administration. Negotiate vendor contracts and renewal terms to optimize value and service quality.
Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies within global benefits programs partnering with HR, Finance, Payroll and Legal
Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and statutory benefit requirements across all countries of operation. Support internal and external audits related to benefits programs
Support due diligence and integration activities related to acquisitions and divestitures
Lead global benefits projects, including new program implementations, vendor transitions, and system enhancements
Partner with HRIS and Payroll teams to improve benefits administration processes and reporting capabilities
Build strong partnerships with regional HR leaders, HR Business Partners, Finance, Legal, and executive stakeholders
Lead and develop benefits team members
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
10+ years of progressive Total Rewards or Benefits experience, including substantial international benefits expertise
Deep knowledge of employee benefits practices across multiple global regions, particularly EMEA and APAC with experience managing global brokers, consultants, insurers, and third-party administrators
Strong understanding of international regulatory and compliance requirements
Demonstrated experience developing global benefits strategies and leading complex cross-functional initiatives
Strong analytical, financial, and vendor management skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities
Experience with Workday is a plus
