Internal Audit Manager

Salary Range:

 Commensurate with experience and education and competitive with other nonprofits

Position Summary:

Edify promotes holistic and high-quality Christ-centered education in partnership with low-fee independent Christ-centered schools. The Internal Auditor is a full-time position that will thrive in a challenging, innovative, and empowering mission-focused work environment. This role will facilitate organizational accountability and integrity through the implementation of audit processes, perform internal audits at all levels of the organization, and advise the organization on the appropriateness and adequacy of the control environment within an office or function.

Work Environment:

This position will be full-time based in Latin America, reporting to theInternal Audit Manager. The atmosphere of Edify is one where you can expect to perform widely varied tasks related to the role.

Travel Expectation:

The position requires the ability to travel as needed. In addition to regional travel, Edify holds an annual all-staff meeting, alternating in a US-

based or international location each year. Travel would be required to attend this meeting.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Builds relationships by demonstrating competence, cultural sensitivity, and diplomacy in all situations.
• Works with the Internal Audit Manager to define project objectives, scope, work plan, and sampling criteria.
• Performs audits by applying critical thinking and business savvy to evaluate process risks and control systems. Performs audits based on predefined project objectives, scope, work plan, and sampling criteria; applies effective time management skills to ensure audit success.
• Gather, develop, and maintain adequate documentation pertaining to testing and analysis performed during the course of an audit.
• Works with the Internal Audit Manager to review audit results, formulate and report audit findings, and offer an overall assessment of the area reviewed.
• Works in partnership with the audit customer to develop and discuss recommendations to improve operations and provide education and training in internal control and risk assessment concepts. Ensures management creates action plans and works with the Internal Audit Manager to ensure actions are taken. Follow up on recommendations and management action plans from assessment.
• Knows how to facilitate audit engagements by using precise and clarifying questions to obtain data and to encourage candid sharing of information.
• Maintains audit tools and processes.
• Reviews and analyzes information and audit results to prevent and detect fraud.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Experience and Education Required:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration. 
•  Fluent in English and Spanish
• Two years auditing or professional accounting experience.
• Non-profit experience and/or experience working with international staff.
