Daily Rate: Competitive, Inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Finance Architect to define and shape finance architecture within a large life and pensions business operating in a highly regulated environment. The role will align finance accounting, controls, reporting, and target-platform requirements, translating finance and regulatory needs into end-to-end solution designs.

The successful candidate will assure data flows, controls, and integration with the wider architecture, working closely with business SMEs, security, data, engineering, and operations teams to evaluate options, document decisions, and assure detailed designs. The detailed design solution must be scalable, supportable, compliant, and aligned to the wider target architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Define finance architecture aligned to accounting, controls, reporting, and target-platform requirements.
  
• Translate finance and regulatory requirements into end-to-end solution designs.
  
• Assure data flows, controls, and integration with the wider architecture landscape.
  
• Collaborate with business SMEs, security, data, engineering, and operations teams to evaluate options and document decisions.
  
• Review and assure detailed designs to ensure they are scalable, supportable, compliant, and aligned to the target architecture.
  
• Support governance and design assurance activities across finance transformation initiatives.
  

Required Experience

• Strong background in finance architecture within financial services or a highly regulated environment.
  
• Deep understanding of accounting, controls, and reporting requirements.
  
• Experience translating business and regulatory needs into solution architecture and detailed design.
  
• Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams including business, technology, security, data, and operations.
  
• Experience assuring end-to-end solutions for scalability, compliance, and operational supportability.
