Instructional Designer

The Opportunity:

The Instructional Designer will design, build, and maintain multi-channel training solutions for a Department of War client. In this role, will leverage advanced Digital Adoption Platforms (DAP) development tools like  WalkMe or WhatFix to create training content (including courseware, simulations, microlearning, videos and step-by-step instructions).

The ideal candidate blends instructional design expertise and strong content development skills with their knowledge of business and SAP landscapes.

Responsibilities:

-DAP Content Creation: Design, build, and deploy interactive, context sensitive guidance assets, courseware and collateral materials using WalkMe or WhatFix.

-Training Architecture: Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate complex business processes into intuitive step-by-step and process documentation that become pieces of a greater whole.

-Virtual Training: Create simulation training, microlearning videos, knowledge-check quizzes, and web-based courses using specialized business applications like WalkMe, WhatFix, Captivate or Articulate.

-Training Systems Support: Define data sets required to perform exercises in an SAP training instance, including the creation, maintenance and management of data sheets.

-End User Training Support: Assist the broader training initiative during global fielding of end-user training by acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) during training delivery and/or fulfilling a primary instructor role as needed.

-Continuous Improvement: Continues to refine established content to support subsequent rollouts and system upgrades, ensuring materials remain relevant to the end user audience.

-Reporting and Communication: Provides consistent and accurate status reporting according to established schedules, updating team leaders immediately when barriers arise. Is available during core hours via Teams, text and telephone.

Location: The position is a remote position that will require up to 20% travel to attend in-person meetings and events, collaboration sessions and support training roll-out.

Qualifications:

Required:

-Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Instructional Designer, Technical Trainer, or Content Developer on an  SAP S/4 implementation project.

-Active Secret Clearance

-DAP Tool Expertise: Hands-on experience developing content inside EnableNow, uPeform, WalkMe, or WhatFix.

-SAP Knowledge: Solid familiarity of SAP supply chain, warehousing, transportation management, materials management or finance transactions and processes.

-Instructional Design: Strong grounding in adult learning theories, technical writing, and the ability to simplify multi-step configurations into easy-to-understand step-by-step and process content.

Location: The position is a remote position with a requirement to travel. However, candidates local to the Scott Air Force Base region are given priority.

There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
