Inside Sales / Lead Generation: Construction
The role
This is a hunting role. You'll find projects before they're on anyone else's radar; at the permit and pre-construction stage and figure out who's making decisions, get them on the phone, and book meetings for our reps. Two skills make someone great at this job. The first is research: you can start with a permit filing and end up with a construction manager's direct line. The second is the phone: you make a lot of calls, you're comfortable being the interruption, and a hang-up doesn't slow you down.
What you'll do
Find the opportunities
- Monitor municipal permit filings, planning applications, development approvals, and construction news across Ontario
- Identify projects at the permit and pre-construction phase
- Track which developers and general contractors are actively winning work
Map the decision-makers
- For every project, identify the developer, general contractor, construction manager, project manager, and purchasing lead
- Source names, titles, direct phone numbers, and email addresses
- Understand who controls the spec, who controls the budget, and who to call first
Work the phone
- Make a high volume of outbound cold calls every day
- Qualify interest, uncover project timelines, scope, and buying process
- Book qualified meetings for the sales team and hit a monthly meeting target
Build our intelligence in Salesforce
- Enter every project, contact, call outcome, and note: same day, complete, accurate
- Keep records clean enough that a rep can open one and walk into a meeting prepared
- Maintain the pipeline of tracked developments so nothing goes stale or gets missed
Hand off properly
- Brief the rep before each meeting: what the project is, who they're meeting, what was discussed, where the opening is
What we're looking for
You'll need
- 1-3+ years of outbound cold calling or prospecting where the phone was your primary tool: not email-only or inbound follow-up
- Proven comfort with high call volume
- Strong research instincts and genuine resourcefulness in finding contact information
- CRM experience (Salesforce strongly preferred) and the discipline to keep data clean
- Experience selling into construction, building products, real estate development, or skilled trades
- Familiarity with permit and planning data sources: municipal portals, ConstructConnect, Dodge, BuildingConnected, or similar
- Understanding of multifamily construction phases and who buys what, when
What we offer
- $60,000 base salary
- Performance bonus tied to qualified meetings booked
