The HR Operations Advisor serves as a Human Resources Consultant with deep expertise in performance management and employee relations, using data, automation, and emerging technologies to elevate how HR delivers value. In this role, you partner closely with HR teams, managers, and business leaders to activate culture, strengthen manager capability, and design scalable, data-driven solutions across the HR lifecycle. You provide high-impact HR consultation, coach managers through complex workplace issues, and contribute to both day-to-day case work and broader process improvements in a fast-paced, global, and matrixed environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and advise managers and employees on complex workplace matters, including performance issues, workplace behavior, and employee relations concerns, using data and insights to inform recommendations.
  • Provide expert consultation on career development, performance management, workplace behavior, and HR policy interpretation, ensuring consistent and objective application.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and cross-functional HR teams to support and enable strategic people priorities across the organization.
  • Design, recommend, and implement scalable, automated HR solutions that strengthen manager effectiveness, reduce manual effort, and improve overall HR service delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR workflows and processes, improve decision quality, and free up time for higher-impact consulting work.
  • Lead the diagnosis and resolution of increasingly complex issues related to policy, culture, or employee relations, partnering with HR and Legal as needed to maintain a safe and professional work environment.
  • Identify, track, and escalate trends in employee relations cases and partner with stakeholders to implement solutions that reduce recurring issues and improve outcomes.
  • Use data-driven insights to anticipate training and capability needs for managers and employees, and recommend or deliver targeted solutions such as training, communications, or guidance materials.
  • Evaluate HR processes and tools for efficiency and effectiveness, partnering with HR operations and technology teams to design and scale improvements.
  • Apply HR values, policies, and practices consistently across programs such as leave, retirement, immigration, and performance management to ensure compliance and fairness.
  • Model and embody the organization’s culture and values in all interactions with managers, employees, and partners.
  • Provide day-to-day HR consultation to managers and employees, offering timely and practical guidance on HR programs and issues.
  • Manage and document HR cases in CRM and case management systems, ensuring high levels of data quality, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Support performance management discussions and employee relations matters from intake through resolution, including documentation and follow-up.
  • Collaborate with HR partners on escalations and complex scenarios, ensuring appropriate handling and alignment with HR policies and legal guidance.
  • Assist with short-term operational tasks and case work while contributing to broader HR consulting and operational workstreams.
  • Participate in key projects related to performance management consultations, manager coaching, employee support and intake, policy interpretation, and readiness and training initiatives.

Essential Skills

  • Proven expertise in performance management and employee relations, including advising managers on performance issues, workplace behavior, and complex employee relations scenarios.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies and practices, with the ability to interpret and apply them consistently, objectively, and in alignment with organizational values.
  • Hands-on experience with HR case management and CRM systems, including data entry, documentation accuracy, and tracking within case management tools.
  • Demonstrated experience in HR consulting, HR Business Partner, Employee Relations, or similar HR advisory roles supporting managers and large employee populations.
  • Ability to use data and insights to inform recommendations, identify trends, anticipate capability needs, and drive decision-making.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, global, and matrixed environment, balancing multiple priorities and managing complex scenarios.
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to remain impartial, objective, and consistent in handling sensitive issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trust quickly with managers and employees and influence outcomes through clear guidance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 5–7 years of customer service-related experience, preferably within an HR context.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience providing manager coaching on performance management, employee relations, and policy interpretation.
  • Experience in HR operations, HR consulting, or employee relations supporting large or complex organizations.
  • Experience supporting or advising on programs such as leave, retirement, immigration, and performance management.
  • Familiarity with technology industry environments is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working with global or geographically dispersed teams in a matrixed structure.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to continuous improvement efforts, including process optimization and efficiency initiatives.
  • Comfort working with emerging technologies and automation tools to enhance HR service delivery.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Ability to design or support training, readiness, and communication initiatives for managers and employees.

Work Environment

This role is fully remote, and candidates must be located within the United States; work may be performed from any U.S. time zone. The position follows a standard Monday–Friday schedule, averaging 40 hours per week, with overtime not anticipated. You will work in a fast-paced, global, and matrixed environment that emphasizes collaboration across HR, Legal, Compliance, and other cross-functional partners. The role blends hands-on case work with opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiency, offering exposure to complex, real-world workplace scenarios and meaningful HR consulting work focused on performance management and employee relations. You will use a standard laptop and must have a mobile device capable of supporting current security updates and identity verification requirements. The organization offers a collaborative culture with strong potential for skill development and growth within HR consulting, and there is a possible, though not guaranteed, opportunity for extension depending on business needs, budget, and performance.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
