Job Description

The Employee Relations Specialist works closely with onboarding, payroll, and recruiting teams to deliver an exceptional experience for contractors throughout their assignments. This role serves as the primary point of contact for contractors, ensuring accurate payroll processing, proactive employee relations support, and thoughtful career guidance as assignments progress and conclude.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors throughout the duration of their assignments, providing consistent support and guidance.
  • Collaborate closely with Payroll Services Specialists to complete follow-up with contractors and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Conduct first-week service calls with all contractors at the start of their assignments to establish rapport, answer questions, and set expectations.
  • Provide timesheet and expense entry training to contractors so they can accurately record time and costs.
  • Make quarterly service calls to contractors to deliver high-touch customer service and proactively address any concerns.
  • Partner with the payroll team to collect timecards and related documentation, ensuring payroll is processed on schedule and without errors.
  • Work with assignment managers to gather performance feedback and share it consistently with contractors to support their development.
  • Collaborate with internal HR regarding benefits, employee relations matters, retirement plans, and other HR-related topics impacting contractors.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve contractor-related issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain worker authorization documentation, including monitoring expiration dates and conducting necessary follow-up to keep records current.
  • Support contractors with performance improvement by discussing strengths, development areas, and skills they are gaining during the assignment.
  • Help contractors understand potential career paths and options available to them after their current assignments are completed.
  • Partner with the National Recruiting Center to explore and determine new assignment opportunities for contractors as their current engagements come to an end.
  • Participate in internal account reviews and quarterly scorecard meetings to share insights on contractor performance, engagement, and overall experience.
  • Provide professional, customer-focused communication via phone and email, ensuring all interactions reflect a people-first, service-oriented culture.
  • Accurately enter and maintain contractor information and documentation in systems, demonstrating strong data entry and administrative support skills.
  • Manage multiple contractor relationships and tasks simultaneously, using effective time management and attention to detail to meet deadlines.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated customer service experience with a professional, service-oriented approach.
  • Experience working in an office setting or similar professional environment.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work with basic Excel functions for tracking, reporting, or data entry.

Work Environment

This is a fully remote position with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Troy, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
