The Head of Marketing will own and drive the overall marketing strategy across brand, performance, e-commerce, and CRM channels. They will be responsible for translating business objectives into clear marketing priorities and building the processes necessary for international growth.

Head of Marketing (E-commerce/Beauty & Cosmetics)

About the Role:

A fast-growing e-commerce company in the beauty and cosmetics space is looking for a Head of Marketing to take ownership of its broader marketing function and help structure the next phase of growth.

The company is in an accelerated expansion phase, with multiple initiatives running simultaneously across brand, performance, e-commerce, content, partnerships and customer acquisition. The role will be responsible for bringing structure, prioritisation and strong execution across these areas while preserving the speed and creativity that have contributed to the company's growth so far.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, founder-led environment and knows how to turn ambitious commercial goals into clear marketing priorities and execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the overall marketing strategy across brand, performance, e-commerce, affiliates, website, CRM and email marketing.

  • Translate business and growth objectives into clear marketing priorities, initiatives and KPIs.

  • Lead and coordinate the execution of marketing initiatives across multiple channels and external/internal stakeholders.

  • Take ownership of the areas outside the existing content strategy, ensuring strong execution and accountability.

  • Work closely with the existing content function to ensure consistency between brand, content, acquisition and commercial objectives.

  • Oversee website and e-commerce optimisation, identifying opportunities to improve conversion, customer experience and revenue.

  • Develop and manage affiliate and partnership initiatives to support customer acquisition and growth.

  • Understand performance marketing fundamentals, including paid advertising, media buying, acquisition metrics and channel performance.

  • Work closely with external specialists or partners where needed, without necessarily being responsible for hands-on media buying.

  • Use data and commercial insights to evaluate performance, identify opportunities and continuously improve marketing efficiency.

  • Establish stronger marketing processes, reporting and prioritisation as the company scales.

  • Collaborate closely with the founders and wider team, bringing strategic thinking while remaining highly execution-oriented.

  • Help build the marketing structure, capabilities and processes required for the next stage of international growth.

What They Are Looking For:

  • Proven experience leading marketing within fast-growing e-commerce, DTC, beauty, fashion, lifestyle or similarly consumer-focused businesses.

  • Strong understanding of the full marketing ecosystem, with the ability to connect brand, acquisition, performance and commercial objectives.

  • Experience with e-commerce growth and a strong understanding of customer acquisition, conversion and retention.

  • Good knowledge of performance marketing concepts, paid media and media buying, even if hands-on media buying is not the core responsibility.

  • Experience managing multiple marketing channels and coordinating internal teams, freelancers, agencies or external partners.

  • Strong commercial mindset, with the ability to connect marketing activity to measurable business outcomes.

  • Comfortable working in an environment where priorities move quickly and where there is a high degree of autonomy.

  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to bring structure without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and genuine interest in building rather than simply maintaining an existing marketing machine.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Fluent English is essential.

  • Spanish is a strong advantage, but international candidates are welcome.

Ideal Background:

The ideal candidate is likely to have experience in a modern, fast-growing and digitally native consumer brand, particularly within e-commerce.

Experience in environments similar to high-growth fashion, beauty or lifestyle brands is particularly relevant, where marketing is closely connected to brand building, social media, performance and direct revenue generation.

The company is looking for someone with a modern and creative approach to marketing, rather than a traditional corporate marketing profile. Someone who understands how younger consumer brands build communities, generate demand and move quickly across channels will be particularly well suited to the role.

What Makes the Role Interesting:

  • Opportunity to take ownership of a broad 360° marketing function within a rapidly scaling e-commerce business.

  • High level of autonomy and direct exposure to the founders.

  • Opportunity to build structure and processes around an already fast-growing business.

  • Ability to influence brand, acquisition, e-commerce and commercial growth simultaneously.

  • International scope, with openness to candidates based outside Portugal.

  • Remote work is possible, making the role accessible to strong international talent.

Location & Working Model:

  • Remote-first / 100% remote possible

  • Candidates based in Portugal, Spain or other European markets are welcome.

  • The company is particularly open to international talent with relevant experience in fast-growing e-commerce environments.

Compensation:

  • €60,000–€80,000 gross annual equivalent, depending on experience and seniority.

  • The final compensation structure can be discussed according to the candidate's location, experience and preferred employment structure.
