At QuidelOrtho, we’re advancing the power of diagnostics for a healthier future for all. Join our mission as our next Director of Global Marketing, POC/MDx. The Director of Global Marketing, POC/MDx will be responsible for leading, defining, and delivering an integrated, market driven portfolio strategy for QuidelOrtho’s Point of Care (POC) and Molecular diagnostic businesses. This role provides strategic and hands on leadership to articulate QuidelOrtho’s global value proposition across the current and future POC and Molecular portfolio, ensuring clear differentiation through clinical value, operational efficiency, and economic impact for target customers. The Director applies deep knowledge of the competitive landscape to drive portfolio positioning and leads a team to deliver sustained revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer centric innovation.
Global Portfolio Strategy & Roadmap
Develop, refine, and lead the implementation of the Global POC & Molecular Product Portfolio Strategy and multi year roadmap.
Prioritize portfolio investments and pipeline initiatives based on comprehensive assessments of global market dynamics, customer needs, competitive intelligence, and financial return.
Stay current on market drivers, technology trends, and healthcare system changes and assess their impact on portfolio strategy in close partnership with Regional Marketing and Commercial teams.
Segment global markets to identify product gaps and growth opportunities, collaborating closely with Product Management to strengthen the market driven portfolio.
Customer and Value Proposition Leadership
Define and validate target customer needs using inputs from Regional Marketing, Commercial partners, Product Management, and primary market research.
Translate customer needs into differentiated portfolio opportunities and compelling value propositions.
Partner with Product Management, Commercial, and Training teams to develop effective tools, messaging, and communications that drive portfolio adoption, brand equity, and sales effectiveness.
Global Messaging, Positioning, and Competitive Strategy
Lead teams to deliver clear, consistent messaging, positioning, pricing, and packaging strategies across the product lifecycle—from development and launch through lifecycle management.
Apply deep understanding of global and key regional competitors’ POC and Molecular portfolios, including features, strengths, weaknesses, and strategic intent.
Develop and deploy competitive positioning strategies that influence customer perception and establish QuidelOrtho’s POC and Molecular offerings as uniquely differentiated and valued.
Commercial Partnership & Enterprise Impact
Serve as a primary global marketing interface with Regional Commercial partners to align on market needs, competitive differentiation, and growth opportunities.
Track, analyze, and interpret global sales performance, pricing, margin, and financial data to assess portfolio health, inform go to market plans, and guide strategic and investment decisions.
Translate performance insights into actionable marketing, portfolio, and commercialization strategies, adjusting plans to optimize revenue growth and profitability.
Develop strategies, tools, and initiatives that support market development, value creation, and successful commercialization of both existing portfolio and future pipeline assets.
People Leadership & Talent Development
Lead and develop direct reports through clear direction, coaching, performance feedback, and capability building.
Drive talent management strategies to attract, develop, retain, and inspire high performing teams.
Optimize organizational structure and capabilities to support current and future portfolio needs.
Establish succession planning and development pathways for future marketing leaders and technical experts.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned
Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience in global marketing, portfolio strategy, or product management within a complex, competitive, global organization
Proven experience leading global or regional Marketing and/or Product Management teams.
Strong business and financial acumen across market assessment, portfolio strategy, competitive dynamics, and global commercialization.
Demonstrated global leadership experience with strong executive presence, collaborative mindset, and highest standards of integrity.
Ability to influence and lead cross functional partners beyond direct reporting lines, including Commercial, Finance, R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and Medical/Scientific Affairs.
Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 15% overnight. Both domestic and international.
This position is not currently eligible for visa sponsorship.
Preferred:
Experience in Point of Care and/or Molecular Diagnostics strongly preferred.
Strong understanding of global regulatory and quality processes and ability to partner effectively to enable timely approvals and global product launches.
Demonstrated success in using performance data and insights to drive strategic decisions and business results.
Proven ability to build strong partnerships, foster a winning culture, and execute complex, global business initiatives.

The Work Environment
Typical remote office environment. Must have the discipline, organization skills and self-motivation to work autonomously in a home office environment.
The Physical Demands
Must be physically able to travel up to 15%. No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials (up to 10 lbs.) is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Occasionally required to reach, climb or balance. On a typical day, 80% of time is spent at the desk, on the phone, or working at the computer; 20% in meetings or interacting with team members.
Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on that facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range for this position is $170,000 USD to $195,000 USD and is bonus eligible. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time) and paid Holidays. All benefits are non-contractual, and QuidelOrtho may amend, terminate, or enhance the benefits provided, as it deems appropriate.
