Position Summary

A Regional Operations Manager plays a key role in boosting sales, maximizing revenue, and profitability. This position serves as a strategic partner to leadership teams, providing data-driven insights, performance analysis, and actionable recommendations that help franchisees meet and exceed business objectives.  Operational excellence is achieved by providing hands-on coaching, ensuring each franchisee operates in alignment with brand standards and compliance, overcomes business challenges, and achieves individualized growth and success within the franchise system.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no direct reports.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and evaluate performance metrics including revenue growth, profit margins, and operational efficiency.
• Identify profitability levels and implement strategies that drive top-line revenue and reduce costs.
• Consult and work with owners, consistently, to better understand financial statements and develop yearly budgets that reflect the goals of their business.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of franchisees, fostering strong, trust-based relationships.
•  Assist Franchisees in the development and implementation of franchise system enhancements, including operational processes, communication channels, and best practices (i.e., sales, product MVP, marketing, etc.).
• Analyze performance data from CRM tools and regular audits to identify areas for franchisee profitability and operational improvements.
• Support franchisee onboarding, training, and the adoption of operational systems and tools.
• Monitor alignment with brand standards, drive compliance, and encourage consistent execution across locations.
• Adapt coaching strategies to meet the needs of franchisees at different stages of growth (follow the Tiered Growth Roadmap).
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and a culture of continuous improvement within the network.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess operational performance and provide guidance on improving efficiency and productivity.  
• Develop content, attend, and facilitate convention, regional meetings, academy training, and strategic webinars.
• Provide franchisees with access to workforce development resources, including optional tools, training materials, and best practices.  Help facilitate connections to third-party staffing solutions and offer guidance on scalable strategies for talent acquisition and retention

Required Skills and Abilities

• Understanding of business fundamentals (operations, marketing, sales, finance).
• Deep proficiency in coaching, with a strong track record of improving sales performance.
• Ability to analyze data to guide coaching focus and measure results.
• In depth understanding of the financial aspects of business operations, including profit and loss management, market dynamics, competitive landscape and industry trends.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with their portfolio of franchisees, conduct joint territory planning and align on agreed upon growth objectives
• Ability to leverage systems, analyze data, and adapt coaching to unique franchisee needs.
• Empathy, patience, and high levels of emotional intelligence.
• 35%-40% of travel for in-person meetings, training, and support as needed.
• Exhibits integrity, honesty, the Company culture, brand culture and core values.
• Experience in sales coaching, financial acumen and operational experience in franchising.  
• Ability to lead, influence, and foster effective relationships built on trust.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Finance, or a related field is desired; equivalent experience will be considered. Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) or coaching certifications are a plus.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting, coaching, or managing franchise, multi-unit, or small business operations.
• Franchise operations, franchise business coaching, or business consulting experience strongly preferred.
• Prior business ownership or franchise ownership is highly desirable.
• Experience working with financial statements, business analytics, CRM platforms, and operational reporting.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Success in this role may be measured by:

• Franchisee Goal Achievement Rate: Proportion of assigned franchisees achieving agreed-upon sales, profitability, and operational benchmarks.
• Gross Sales Growth: Year-over-year or quarter-over-quarter revenue growth among assigned franchisees.
• Training Completion Rate: Percentage of franchisees completing required onboarding and training modules.
• Brand Standards Compliance: Audit scores or rate of compliance with operational protocols and brand expectations.
• Franchisee Satisfaction Score: Feedback from regular surveys assessing coaching quality and trust (i.e., Annual Franchise Business Review Survey).
• Frequency of Financial Reviews: Number of substantive financial coaching sessions held per franchisee.

Travel & Work Environment

• Remote position with approximately 25–40% travel, depending on business needs.
• Must reside near a major airport.
• Ability to travel throughout assigned territories for coaching, operational support, regional meetings, and conventions.
• Working hours may vary based on assigned territory.
• Ability to work on a computer for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
