AI Summary

You will own the end-to-end outbound sales process for Indian startups, from prospecting and running demos to closing deals. Additionally, you will help define and scale the sales engine and processes for the growing team.

This is an internal role at Weekday. Not a role by a client.

  • Role type: Full time
  • Location: Remote
  • Working days: Monday–Saturday
  • Working with: The founders and the AE team

Weekday is an AI-native recruiting platform. We are backed by Y Combinator and Venture Highway (now General Catalyst). We have built the largest white-collar talent database in India and have built tools to run outbound recruiting campaigns to them.

About the role

You will own outbound sales to Indian startups. Not support it. Own it. You find the companies, you get in the door, you run the demo, you close, and you hand over a customer who knows exactly what they bought.

We have an AE team of three today. It works, and it closes. Now we need to scale it, and you will be a critical part of that. That means two things: you carry your own number from week one, and you help figure out what the team looks like at ten. What's repeatable, what isn't, what to write down, what to throw out. The people we hire after you will run on what you help build.

We sell to founders and heads of talent at startups that are hiring. They are busy, sceptical, and have been burned by recruiting agencies before. Your job is to show them, in one call, why a talent database of this size plus outbound campaigns gets them hires faster than anything else they've tried.

If you want a clean job description with neat boundaries, this isn't for you. If you want to be one of the people who scaled the sales engine at a profitable, venture-backed company, read on.

What you'll actually do

On any given day you might be:

  • Building your own target list of Indian startups that are hiring, and figuring out who the real decision-maker is
  • Running cold outbound across email, LinkedIn, and phone, and iterating on what actually gets a reply
  • Running demos that are built around the prospect's open roles, not a generic walkthrough of the product
  • Closing subscription deals and handling pricing, procurement, and the "let me think about it" that never comes back on its own
  • Handing closed accounts over to the delivery team cleanly, so the first month goes well and the renewal takes care of itself
  • Keeping the pipeline honest in the CRM, and reporting the numbers to the founders every week, including the ugly ones
  • Sitting with the other AEs to work out what's working across the team, and turning it into process the next hires can run on

You'll be measured on closed revenue and pipeline built. Not on activity, not on slides.

What we're looking for

  • You've sold B2B before, ideally to startups, ideally something a founder had to say yes to. You know what a real pipeline looks like.
  • You're comfortable with cold outbound. Not tolerant of it. Comfortable. You'd rather send fifty good emails than wait for a lead.
  • You can run a demo that feels like a conversation and ends with a next step.
  • You close. You ask for the deal, you handle the objection, and you don't confuse a friendly call with a sale.
  • You take ownership. When a number is yours, it moves, and nobody has to follow up with you.
  • You've seen a sales team grow, or you want to be the person who makes it grow. You think about the system, not just your own quota.
  • You understand the Indian startup ecosystem, who's hiring, who's raising, and who's about to need ten engineers in a hurry.
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and a Monday–Saturday pace.

What you get

  • An early seat on a sales team that's about to scale, at a profitable, venture-backed company
  • Direct access to the founders and a say in pricing, positioning, and what we build next
  • A product with real pull: the largest white-collar talent database in India and outbound tooling that companies actually get hires from
  • A clear path to leading a team as the function grows, if you earn it
  • A front-row seat to how a startup gets built and run, and the track record to show for it when you build your own
