Financial Modeling
- Model ownership: Build, maintain, and continuously improve RecargaPay's 3- and 5-year financial model, ensuring it accurately reflects the business's current drivers, unit economics, and growth assumptions across all verticals. The model runs on Excel today, with room to evolve toward more structured FP&A tools as the company's planning stack matures.
- Model logic & reasoning: Be able to explain, reason through, and defend every assumption and mechanism in the model — revenue build, cost structure, credit/lending dynamics, regulatory capital, cash flow — to internal leadership and external investors.
- Scenario & sensitivity analysis: Develop scenarios, sensitivities, and stress tests reflecting different growth, funding, and macro assumptions to support strategic and investment decisions.
- Model updates & version control: Keep the model current with actuals, board-approved budgets, and evolving business strategy, maintaining a clean, well-documented, and auditable structure.
Capital Raise
- Support Investor-facing materials: Prepare and tailor the financial model and supporting schedules for distribution to VCs, growth equity funds, and other investors evaluating an opportunity in the region.
- Due diligence Q&A: Own the preparation and quality control of responses to financial and modeling questions raised during DD processes, working closely with Consolidation, Reporting & IR, and Accounting.
Virtual Data Room (VDR): Help structure, populate, and keep the VDR organized and current throughout a capital raise process, ensuring documents are complete, consistent, and investor-ready. - Coordination: Support the coordination of investor calls, management presentations, and related materials, working alongside the VP of Planning and the CFO's office. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Financial reporting linkage: Ensure the financial model stays fully reconciled with actual results and board/IR reporting, partnering with the Consolidation and Reporting & IR teams. - Actionable insights: Translate model outputs into clear insights for leadership, flagging risks or inconsistencies between plan and actuals that could affect investor conversations.
- Cross-functional input gathering: Work directly with Business Unit leaders, senior management, and Finance teams across the company to collect and validate actuals and forward-looking inputs. This is a company-wide, relationship-driven role — success depends on building trust with stakeholders across BUs and leadership, not just working in isolation on the model.
Requirements
Data & AI
- Work with multiple data sources and data teams to keep the model's inputs current and accurate. Actively leverage AI tools and automation to speed up modeling, scenario-building, Q&A drafting, and VDR organization — we expect this role to be at the forefront of AI adoption in the Finance team.
Languages
We are a trilingual team with executive leadership operating across English, Spanish, and Portuguese on a daily basis. We value professionals who can communicate effectively in all three languages at a working/executive level.
- Portuguese: Fluency required (working language in Brazil).
- English: Fluency required (this role is investor-facing at the VC/growth-equity level).
- Spanish: Strongly preferred (daily working language with leadership and cross-functional teams). Candidates with all three languages at executive level will be prioritized.
Soft Skills
- Analytical rigor and precision: extremely comfortable with numbers, structure, and detail — a model error in front of an investor is not an option.
- Clarity under scrutiny: able to explain complex financial logic simply and confidently, including live, to sophisticated external audiences.
- Ownership, autonomy, and accountability.
- Composure under pressure: capital raise timelines are demanding and deadline-driven; this role needs to perform well under that intensity.
- Strong interpersonal and influencing skills: comfortable building relationships across BUs and Finance to secure timely, quality actuals and projections — this role sits across the company, not inside a silo.
- Collaboration across teams and geographies. • Adaptability: comfortable with ambiguity and workload that shifts between BAU model maintenance and high-intensity fundraising sprints.
- Curiosity and continuous learning: proactive in adopting new tools, methods, and technologies — especially AI.
